Hotel King Rome Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

I found my room at the King Hotel to be large but very outdated - everything from the wallpaper to the bathroom. The bed and pillows were fortunately very comfortable and the room a decent size. They also have free wi-fi, satelite TV (get more than just CNN int'l for english channels) and breakfast. The breakfast was definitely slim (no fruit, just breads/baked goods, some meat, cheese and coffee) but good enough to grab something. The location was great right near the Spanish steps and the Barberini metro stop. The neighborhood was also decent. I wouldn't have wanted to be there more than a day or two but this will definitely do for a short stay on a budget.

It was very inconvenient to have to change floors and elevators every time you wanted to go downstairs and moreover there were lots of steps that make moving suitcases very difficult.

This is my third stay at Hotel King. Excellent Location, very close to Metro and 100 meters to top of Spanish steps. Two good Restaurants right beside the hotel. Friendly staff, excellent English and helpful.

Exceellent location just above Piazza di Spagna. simpatic staff. It needs badly to be renovated, but beds are OK. Good restaurant in via Capuccini, just around the corner.

It was one of the worst hotel I ever stayed in. We could not sleep nearly all night. There was awfully bad nois insulation, keys were fixed on a huge pendant, so every time anybody locked or unlocked his room the pendant made enormous grumble. The double bed was like a spring-board, thus if one sleeper moved, the other one sprang up. On the other hand, the personnel was friendly and willing.

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was ok but by the pictures we did expect a lot more. There was no fruit. The beds and rooms were small. It was a good location and very close to the touristy things we wanted to do and we felt it was a safe location.

Listing states it has wireless service, this was nonexistent. There was a hub, but no way to connect and the front desk stated there was none. Wireless was one of the primary reasons for selecting this location. Overall though, the location was very good for a walking tour of Rome.

Location's very good considering the price so in that sense it's quite good value. There's a left luggage facility but as usual with hotels of this class in Italy, there's hardly any security provided although most people seem ok with it. Breakfast's up to par by Italian standards. Room's spacious enough although everything including the bathrooms are a little run-down. Overall, this is an adequate hotel to stay in on a medium budget but don' expect anything special.

Very good location as it's within the tourist spot area - the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc... Also nearby to theatre, cafes, shops, boutiques, banks, etc...

Not a bad hotel, but we were given a room that was not easily accessible and involved a long march along corridors and up and down stairs. Only for one night though so it wasn't bad. The room could have done with a refurbishing, the wallpaper is dowdy and dark, and the furniture is damaged and old. Reasonably close to the Spanish Steps and walkable from Termini train station in about 10 minutes.

We stayed 4 nights in this HOTEL. The Hotel provides the minimun facilities in order to pass your vacation in Rome. The rooms was so and so, but the matress of the bed was perfect! About the breakfast, it is a buffet-style breakfast. In my opinion, comparing with other hotels, the buffet-breakfast could be better about the variety and quanlity of the products. Nevertheless, the HOTEL KING ROME has the perfect LOCATION considering that we were in the centre of Rome and we didn't use the Metro because we had only to walk 5-10 min in orderr to visit Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, Fontana di Treve, the shopping centre and other attractions. Think about that we came back on foot from Colloseum!!!(about 20min walk). Finally, the Metro Station is just few seconds near by the Hotel.

Great location, within walking distance to the main sights of Rome and friendly staff. Clean rooms and lots of food for breakfast. Especially enjoyed the fresh, crusty bread. I would go back there given the opportunity.

Excellent value, perfect location about 5 minutes walk from the top of the Spanish Steps. Small single room, but then that's Rome. A bit of a struggle with luggage up and down steps if you're in the annex at the back, but nice and quiet makes up for it. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely choose this one again.
