Clean pleasant hotel well located with a friendly helpful staff
Standard Room, was mostly clean, carpet was very stained however, comfortable and good for price.
very dated furniture and decor in the room
Really happy getting off the ferry and being able to see the accomodation so close to everything. An easy step around the harbour. The wander to the shops was also too easy. Loved the room, super views over the harbour which were heightened by the great weather. Loved our stay here.
After reading the reviews on the Mercure we were a little apprehensive about staying here but it seemed the best value for money and overall the Mercure has a good reputation. They must have taken the criticism on board, the front desk was polite and friendly and our room had been recently renovated.
comfortable, convenient and modern
I thought that the hotel itself is in a fab location, and as it is currently undergoing a refurb will look lovely on completion. The hotel is very clean. The pool could of done with a bit of a clean but is a good size and the pool area is great. It also has a bar. I did think it was a bit pricey as breakfast wasn't included. There are plenty of places to eat in picton for better value breakfast than at the hotel. We were very lucky and got to spend 2 nights in the pent house as they over sold the duluxe rooms. If your lucky enought to get the pent house it is amazing. I would go back to stay here.
The first room we were allocated was unacceptable. The next one was ok but overall a disappointing experience.
Booked a poolview room, could not see pool because of trees. Room needs major makeover, nets stained an ripped, drapes faded and will not close.Bathroom seat broken. After hours key card to get back into Hotel did not work.could not get back in.This is the first time I have used [website], and if this is the sort of Hotel I am going to get I will not use it again.
badly needs refurbishing. carpet in rooms old .with stains. holes.. faded ect. most bathroom whiteware old. chips on most enamel ect.
The hotel eateries looked good, reception and outside presentation was nice, but the room was very ordinary.
service was awesome. shame no toaster to cook breakfast in morning. bathroom needs bit of makeover, but thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would stay again. VERY impressed with VERY friendly and helpful service and staff!!!!
This hotel was beautifully situated and we had al ovely room overlooking Queen Charlotte Sound. Apparently the rooms are due for an update and we felt it was quite expensive
Good location , very friendly, decor a bit tired
Location is great in heart of Picton and has some nice views of the bay (depending on your room location). However the hotel is dire need of refurbishment. My guidebook (which was two years old at time of visit) suggested it was on the verge of being refreshed - but this did not appear to have happened. Staff at reception area were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant area is modern and fresh but the bedroom was faded and floral. Quite disappointing.
Picton is a lovely harbour village. The hotel is situated right on the harbour, only a few minutes walk from the train station and the Ferry Terminal. Unfortunately I could only stay one night, but the room was very impressive.
This was a nice location but the hotel needed a maintenance check.
We were put in the run down old part of the hotel, which was not up to the star rating given. But the pool and view was lovely.
Top place to stay in a very very pretty town, also a great place to eat
although decor and hotel in general is quite dated it is scrupulously clean and they provided a beautifully made up portacot for my baby (often motels forget to even provide a portacot let alone make it up)
