Great hotel for a very good price in the heart of Ginza! Just missing Wi-Fi.
Fantastic position for walking the Ginza and inner Tokyo area. Close to subway/rail stations to connect to Haneda and Narita airports. Perfect for our requirements. Rooms are smallish but you expect that in Tokyo and to stay so close to the centre - it was exceptional value. Staff show exceptional politeness.
Room (double) was very small - just enough room for the bed and and small desk at the foot of the bed. Had to rearrange the furniture to open our suitcases! Other than that, bedroom and bathroom were clean and neat. Staff spoke very good English and were very polite and helpful. They were happy to keep our luggage for the day after we checked out. It's in quite a posh area, although we were only here for 1 night so didn't explore the location too much. It is just round the corner from Ginza-itchome station (Yurakucho line), but beware that this line closes a bit earlier than some other lines. It can be reached in a few minutes' drive from Yurakucho station (JR) - we paid the mininum fare of 720 yen to the hotel from here at night, although you should try to get hold of the hotel's address in Japanese or its location on a map with Japanese road names to show the taxi driver. There was a convenience store (think it was Family Mart) round the corner.
It's a small room to fit in luggages for 2 person (with standard double room) on first day of arrival. Good location but size does matter. Please check and compare with (other hotel) opposite the street.
We enjoyed our stay at Monterey La Souer Ginza- the location is fantastic and the staff very obliging. My daughter and I shared a twin room. Our main complaints would be the size of the room, which just had room for our luggage and that there was no English speaking TV channel. (The BBC World service was dubbed with Japanese.) The hotel did supply an Japanese (translated into English) newspaper daily. There was also no plates/knives etc for us to be able to prepare a snack for ourselves.
Small room but what youexpect in Japan. Hotel staff very helpful, in pretty good location, close to metro station
The hotel staff were friendly and polite, but the room was extremely small and not what we expected for the price quoted. The hotel mwere evidently not able to process foreign cuurency exchanges. In fact I have labelled Tokyo the city of polite refusals!
The hotel was very comfortable and convenient to the Ginza shopping street which we loved. We only stayed one night at the hotel but it was very pleasant and whilst check out is 11am we overslept and paid 1000Yen for the extra hour we asked for to check out at 12Noon which was great!
As a double room it was very small.
The room was very small and terribly hot. Aircon not working for some reason. They finally opened a window for me but it was still too hot. Japanes probably set a date for heating and another for aircon disregarding the real temparature outside. It was a terrible experiance and I will not go back again.
the room is very small.
great location and lovely hotel
nice hotel, good rate, good location at ginza shooping center...higly recommended hotel
Nice hotel, good bed. Excellent location, hide away from the main Ginza shopping strip. Will stay again.
Extremely well located, it is a nice hotel. Although the room are generally small, they are bigger than most business hotel in Japan. It is close to three coffee shops and few yards away from Ginza s main street. The hotel staff does its best to help guests. Highly recommended. the only drawback is the limited supply of baby cots.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel as the service and the location were both excellant. The only downside was that the La Souer is a little tired and could do with a repaint and a bit of an overhaul. However we would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Great location and whilst rooms were small - they had all necessary conveniences. Very helpful staff at reception.
If you are getting a great deal, its probably because you are in the Annex. Before checking in, you should confirm if you are in the main hotel or annex - the former being much nicer, but the latter is not too bad. Small rooms and victorian style - plus it is very convenient to both Ginza Sta and Ginza Ichichome. If your staying in Ginza, the Annex is probably the cheapest rate you will find....
great bed!
Comfortable and well presented small hotel and room. Bed size good but hard in regard to firmness as was the pillow. Located in between 2 stations, it would be helpful to have better directions from both stations.
