Had a problem with the aircon the first day, but was resolved as soon as we complained.Great value for the price and the only down side was the valet parking that was not efficient. Good Hotel.
Excellent location.Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the Concierge team.
The receptionists are quite indifferent. They seldom say "thanks" or "sorry". They also offered wrong information to me about shopping time.
Wow, what a very pleasent place to stay. Rooms were very nice and in a great location. I highly recomend staying here. It's 20 min to both the waterfront and the night life.
A nice place to stay with a beatiful vioew on Tablemountain! The breakfast buffet is very nice and the staff very friendly. If you book through the internet, the price is very good value.
Very pleasant stay. Would go again. Just a pity tht my loose change in my car was pinched when the attendants parked it in the hotel garage.
We found the hotel to be just what we were looking for - reasonably -priced, centrally situated and very high standards for a four star hotel. Staff were a delight - helpful and knowledgable. The breakfasts were wonderful. Cleanliness to a very high standard with very pleasant chambermaids. We have no problem in recommending the hotel to anyone.
EXactly as commented by previous visitors - very attractive pricing and sumptous breakfasts. Hotel recommended for travellers looking for value for money, who can accept minor deficiences in upkeeping of the place.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were helpful, the room was large very functional and comfortable, the breakfast offered many options, from continential to hot buffet, and the location was close to shops. The price provided great value for money.
Good basic hotel. Superior room was corner room and large. Breakfast was good. Godd stop-over hotel in centre of town.
Excellent breakfast. Extremely comfortable rooms and conveniently located - easy walking distance to many attractions, buses and railway station. We certainly felt safe in this part of the city. Very good tour advice and booking service. We will always stay at the St George's Hotel when in Cape Town
We had no complaints. Room was a good size, decor good, bathroom OK, had a hair dryer and tea / coffee. Lots of other reviewers have said the hotel needed redecorating. To me it seemed fine. We walked to Long Street each night without any problems, but took a taxi to the Waterfront (restaurants and shops are expensive there - better value elsewhere).
I had a very positive experience staying at St George's Hotel. The staff were friendly and most importantly quite helpful. Its location is also a big advantage as its situated in the heart of the City with shoppping malls and other landmarks not too far from it. I will definitely recommend this hotel for any first time visitor to Capetown.
The hotel is a basic inner city one in a good location. Breakfast was excellent
WiFi internet connection is totally overprized and seems to be functioning poorly. Otherwise we are very satisfied.
A good and well located hotel that is in walking distance too much of the city. The staff were very helpful and also allowed us to get into our room early which was a big bonus after a long flight.
Although the aircon didn't work in the first room they gave us, they changed us to another room right away. In general the rooms were fine, not too small and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was ok, but the shower curtain didn't do it's job and the floor would get wet with every shower. Breakfast was a nice buffet, although it could have been a bit more varied. The "business center"only had two computers and you had to pay to use the internet. In general the hotel was nothing special, a tourist hotel like so many others, but it was a good value for the money ($50 a night) and the staff was nice and accommodating. It is located downtown Cape Town and in 15 or 20 minutes you could walk to Waterkaant and/or the waterfront. Loved the town and its surroundings! Also, don't miss the restaurant Beluga..
The St. George's Hotel is very clean and has a great location downtown. The restaurant is amazing also! We had some of our best meals in Cape Town at the St. George's restaurant. Caleb the bellman was very nice and helped us book tours, find shopping, etc. I definitely recommend this hotel to those traveling to the Cape Town area.
Breakfast very good Room service very bad - food not up to par Do not use hotel services for airport shuttle or taxis - excite Taxis are the cheapest and most reliable ATM facilities and internet across the road - cheapest
Position great.Staff very helpful Food excellant Definitely recommend
