Hotel Royal Singapore

I would say that this hotel should be categorised to 3 stars instead of 4 star. The queen bed size is rather small. If you want to find cheap hotel and near to city area, this hotel is a good choice. You can walk down to Novena MRT within 10 minutes, you can take bus no 124, 143, 162, 162m, 167, 518 to Orchard Road.

large Clean rooms, furnature might be a bit dated, but it is in good repair clean and functional, in fact better then some modern furnature as its solid and funcutinal, location close to novena MRT, one stop from Newton cirus food courts, bus stop outside door, Staff very friendly and helpfull. I,LL BE BACK

We have been to Hotel Royal Singapore for a few times. So it is a reasonable hotel within walking distance to MRT. Also a good shopping mall is nearby.

I booked a family room and was very spacious. Cleanliness and service was above average. However the swimming pool was not clean in the afternoon as there were leaves in the water. Also there is no attendant for the towels. As regards the location, it is a bit out of the main attractions but connected by MRT and buses.Our stay was a pleasant one. Would recommend this hotel for both business or holidays.

Serviceable and convenient 3-star hotel although a bit tired by today's standards - needs makeover, however rooms reasonably spacious, clean and comfortable beds; has room safe and ironing facility. Needs more powerpoints for laptops etc. Has guest laundry. Staff very helpful/courteous. No hotel bar [perhaps being refurbished] although 2/3 small bars in 2/3 mins walk. 5 mins walk to Novena Mall & MRT, 2 stops to Orchard Road/Ion Mall MRT.

Nothing spectacular about this hotel. Very chinese... breakfast is edible. The key point is its location in walking distance to the subway. The subway takes you quickly to all the major points in the city.

Although the hotel was in a good location, it seemed its standards for cleanliness was lacking. Pubic or chest hair in the bath/shower and a large cockroach scuttering around the breakfast/food area /didn't impress me.

Generally a good hotel located close to the MRT and Newton Food Centre. Breakfast was excellent. The room was appropriate to that booked on our first stay (Queen plus Single) but there was some difficulty finding an appropriate room for our second stay. We were initially offered a King size bed only (no extra single) to accommodate 2 adults and a 7 year old child. Eventually a roll out bed was organised. Although our flight for the second stay was delayed and we did not get to the hotel to 1.30 am, we would have expected that a suitable room would have been reserved for us, as we booked and payed for the hotel stay 8 months earlier. In addition, the reception counter was deserted upon our arrival and we had to call out loudly until staff eventually arrived to serve us. This type of disorganisation is not desirable at that time of the morning. The above complaint is a small one and generally the staff/service was very good. We would stay again and recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel is not new but it is clean, comfortable and value for money. Staff are very good too

Location is good.It is a walking distance to Novena MRT.

An average hotel with old construction, with very friendly staff. Staff in the check-in counter may be more efficient, it took more than 20 minutes for me to get through with the checking counter.

Rooms were a little dated & could do with refreshing but for price was not too bad.

Reasonably clean hotel but a little run down. Great location though as the MRT was just a few minutes walk away.

The furnishing is very old. About 10 min walk to the nearest train station. Breakfast provided is very simple. Almost the same food is served everyday.
