Really beautiful hotel, wonderful Victorian british hotel inside and out but with lovely modern room interiors, great british service, breakfast and more. Minutes walk from The British Museum, great pubs and nice restaurants away from the more touristy and commercial areas. Minutes walk from Euston Station. We loved it and will absolutely return.
We upgraded from the standard room (which was a little small and not too beautiful) to a mini suite. The latter was considerably better, although the first night, we couldn't get the heating to work (and neither could the staff). We were then transferred to a different suite, which was considerably better. Staff are nice and the location is great.
Standard single bedded room.
These standard rooms are furnished with either a double bed or two single beds.
Our Superior bedrooms are spacious and offer all of the amenities of a four star hotel.
The Executive double rooms are furnished in a comtemporary modern style and are located on a high floor.
The Executive Suites are the highest standard of room available. Each has an LCD TV and a separate seating area. These rooms are furnished in a contemporary modern style.
A very pleasant hotel centrally located. Within easy reach of the tube station which is located behind the hotel. Rooms are well-appointed. Breakfast has enough variety. Overall a good experience and will definitely return. Pricing wise could be a little over-price but HotelClub seemed to have better rates than others.
A splendid hotel with period features that make it feel so different. Ideally located for all that London offers. Very friendly staff who struck a balance between helping and allowing visitors space to relax. Clean, spacious room. Much enjoyed and appreciated the stay.
Beautiful inside and out. Standard room was a bit small and bathroom was tiny. However this is central London. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.
Excellent value. Very efficient, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Ideal central location. Nice, comfortable surroundings. Cosy bar.
Inability to provide free internet in rooms a big minus. Refuse to pay £20 a day rip off. Some of the staff very pleasant and helpful, but not all, so only an average score
very good location, nice hotel, good service
Walking distance to Covent Garden, British Museum and Theatre-Land. For those parts of London you can't walk to, it's right next door to Russell Square tube station...happy days!
This hotel is a beautiful old building which is conveniently located in central London. It is perfect for sightseeing and theatre trips. I was on a Business trip and needed to study in the evenings so I found it a bit noisy (traffic - building old - secondary double glazing installed but limited success) but would stay in the hotel again if I were travelling for leisure. The room was small and a little tired but the bathroom was spacious and had been refurbished. The staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Having said that, the performance of some staff was lower than I would have expected in a 4* hotel (lovely but not doing a fantastic job). The hotel also struggled at breakfast time as a large party was staying during the week that I stayed. Despite a few small negatives to my stay, I would definitely stay there again. Worth a visit just for the architecture!
great building with just around the corner from the piccadilly line at russell square. there was an excellent breakfast and the hotel bar stayed open until 1:00 a.m. very good location for a 15 minute walk to leicester square or fleet street. had a very enjoyable stay.
Hotel very good on all counts, staff efficient and friendly, room clean with all the bits and bobs i.e. iron/ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries tea/coffee making facilities but no biscuits!. Noise has never been an issue. Location great, 10 mins. walk from Euston Station, close to Museum and 20/25 mins. to river, theatreland. Our hotel of choice when visiting London for the theatre and events.
Very convenient location. Buffet breakfast was very filling and staff were friendly. Beds were a little hard though and air-con could be more efficient. I would gladly stay here again.
The first room we were given was very hot and the A/C didn't work. I asked for it to be repaired and when I returned to the room later that night, it hadn't been fixed. I was given a new room which was nice, but I'd hate to think what I'd have to spend to get it normally. It's very close to Russell Square tube station which was good. I didn't think much of the hotel for the price I paid.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Room size as expected in central London. Price very good for our purposes. Staff friendly and attentive. Would stay again!
Spent a lovely night in this gorgeous hotel the staff were excellent, room airy large and spotless, breakfast good and plentiful. and to top it all fab location
Our first room had a mould problem (something a hotel of this category shouldn't have), causing an allergic reaction, but we were given a new room right away.
Lovely hotel good location staff all very pleasant and helpful rooms large for London would stay again
Convenient central London hotel. Single rooms are small, but okay for a limited stay.
