Hotel Santa Maria located in the centre of Rome, in the heart of Trastevere, famous for its restaurants, folklore performances and other evening activities. It is a short distance from the main attractions such as the Colosseum, Tiber Island, Navona Square, Campo de Fiori, the Vatican and many more. All major public transportation is also easily accessible. All rooms are at ground level, built around a courtyard and portico, looking out at orange trees in the garden. Each room is appointed with simple but elegant oak wood furniture and all the modern amenities such as air conditioning, frigo-bar, safe, satellite television, telephone, and bathroom with bath or shower. Retaining its past appearance and traditions, Santa Maria offers its clients all modern services and comforts.

This hotel was everything we could ask for and more. Boutique hotel in Trastervere near the Santa Maria Basilica. It is the old quarter and surrounded with small cafe's and restaurants and night life. It was also a lot closer to all the attractions than we thought and walking distance to most. We walked to St. Peters at one end and the Coloseum at the other. If you like an old style hotel, with modern comfortable rooms facing out onto a quiet court yard, good service and excellent breakfast we highly recommend it.

We can't praise the location and service at the Hotel Santa Maria too highly. A quiet hotel in Rome is an absolute find. The welcome was warm and friendly as was the rest of the service especially at breakfast.
