A 5 minute stroll to Chapel Street, 15 mins walk to Albert Park and the Grand Prix, 20 minute walk to St Kilda (less by transport). 15 mins from the MCG, Vodafone and Rod Laver Arenas, Olympic Park and 20 mins to the bargain shopping precincts of Richmond and Fitzroy.

Fabulous location easy walking distance to Chapel Street, trains and trams. Old hotel however it is clean.
My daughter and I had an appointment at the Alfred Hospital which was only across the road from the Hotel Saville of South Yarra Melbourne, it was easy to get to from the city itself. The reception was excellent and the price was more than reasonable. There was a local park which was very much enjoyed in the beautiful sun, even fed the birds. There is nothing I can complain about re the Hotel and hope to stay there again should the occassion arise

10 minutes to cbd or st kilda. 2 minutes from alfred hospital. staff friendly, breakfast selection excellent would stay again price suits.
I have stayed here twice now and would certainly stay again. The location is excellent - close the the CBD, public transport readily available if needed. Ample free parking on the premises, continental breakfast included in the price and as much one can eat. Only down side not enough electric light. Excellent value for money.
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Saville. From the outside we were a bit apprehensive when we arrived but once inside it was clean and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We really liked our room it seemed very large and bed linen was new and very nice. We appreciated the shampoos etc., and the nice biscuits all in all we would highly recommend this Hotel as a top quality budget hotel.

The hotel is old,but it is evident that some revamp has taken place. It is in an excellent location for visiting the Alfred Hospital. As an old hotel, it is as good as any other in its age group. The rates that I was able to secure were excellent, I will need to book again sometime soon in the future.
Quaint little place. Served my purposes. Breakfast included was basically eat all you can toast, cereal, jams, coffee and tea.
Fairly priced, good location, good staff, not very clean (bathroom floor), the rest was OK, breakfast OK and included. If you can live with that, go for it.
On arrival staff was confused about the voucher thought it was an invoice. No glasses in room provided them when asked. Room clean but tired. Breakfast provisions good. Room spacious.
A well located hotel with free off street parking. Close to Albert Park Lake & Faukner Park if you're a jogger. Small room with balcony. Easy walk to good restaurants nearby. Free continental breakfast.

A very good place to stay - nothing wrong at all
If you don't mind somewhere that is possibly the horriblest hotel in melbourne to stay at Looks wise, but want somewhere cheap near the Alfred Hospital and Chapel street, this is the place. It really needs a serious update! Positives included, soft towels & a balcony with breakfast and car parking included in the price! The staff were very friendly and helpful to me. The downfall was an uncomfortable bed and sadly neglected hotel. get rates on hotel club and rates to go for a cheap $80 per night room, don't pay more!
