Getting there:Hotel Sophia is located in the west end of Melbourne CBD, on the corner of King and Little Lonsdale St and is only a few hundred metres walk from Southern Cross Station and the Skybus Super Shuttle. From Tullamarine Airport: Hotel Sophia is located 24 kilometres from Tullamarine Airport. A low cost option is to catch the Skybus Super Shuttle which leaves the airport terminal every 10-15 minutes during the day and only takes 20 minutes from the airport to the city. The new City Terminal is now located opposite the corner of Spencer and Little Bourke Streets, at Southern Cross Station. Tickets may be purchased from the driver. A taxi on the other-hand is a more expensive option and normally takes 25-40 minutes. From Avalon Airport: The Sunbus operates from Avalon Airport to Southern Cross Station. There is no pre-booking required and tickets can be purchased from the Sunbus counter. The Sunbus meets all arriving and departing flights from Avalon Airport 7 days per week.

Car parking:We do not have a car park on site but we recommend Care Carpark 313 Spencer Street, approx. 2 Minute walk from the hotel. The charge for overnight is $14 flat rate. Please see reception for directions.
Child Policy:Children under 6yo may share with their parents / guardians at no additional charge. Children over6y.o are counted as a room occupant for the purposes of determining whether room limit is exceeded or not. eg 2 adults and a child over 6yo will not be permitted in a double room and so on.
Yes the rooms are small, but they are spotlessly clean, bathroom was great, nearly as big as the room! The cooked breakfast being included makes this hotel great value for money. Only negative is that they don't have off-street parking.

This hotel stay was just what we wanted and needed. The room was clean, just a little noisy from the snores of the next room coming through the thin common access door between the two rooms. However, it was a small inconvenience. The breakfast provided was excellent. I will be recommending the hotel to friends
Service was not up standard because staff were overworked due to not enough of them. All were doing two and three jobs at once and rooms were not serviced until late at night
A little dated, and there were some areas that needed attention like chipped tiles in the bathroom, but overall quite clean and decent. The room was a good size, but the 'double' bed was in fact two singles put together. Reaonably quiet in the evening, and the staff at reception were very friendly.

Excellent location for an early morning departure by airport bus. Very small room, bathroom was almost as big as the room itself, but ok for 1 night.

Breakfast a shambles
this is a great mid priced hotel.Just the right facilities for a simple person like myself..Close to everything.great service and a nice little room.One complaint:the bar menu had run out of a few meals which were still on the board and they were not even busy.No steaks left,no gnocci,which were the meals we were looking forward to.I had to eat somewhere else,which annoyed me a little,but we got through it ok and will stay there again next time.
hotel sophia provided us with what we needed very simple but we only wanted it to sleep in. good location if u wanna go to the strip clubs! Parking is terrible though no parking on site had to pay 8 dollars a day and we ended up with a parking fine coz we didnt hav coins or a chip card. so i reccomend not taking the car!
Its a really great location & great value for money with terrific brekky included, but its just so dam noisy. From next door & above with paper thin walls. The guy next doors alarm woke me up several times before it opbviously did him. So you will need your ear plugs! Not sure if I will put up iwth it again I'm afraid
On arrival unable to locate reception staff. Domestic staff did not know how to contact. Duty manager rude. Domestic staff work under conditions that do not comply to OH & S standards. Kitchen closed @ 4pm for room service & no meals in Lounge no chef. Room walls so thin all activity in ajoining rooms was heard
Rooms are the size of a postage stamp and walls are paper thin. There is no parking. Breakfast was nice.
Whilst the rooms are on the small side, the pricing, cleanliness and breakfasts easily outweigh that issue.
