"I have known the Hotel Suisse as a good hotel in Kandy for more than 30 years and stayed there some time ago too. I admire its historical look and efforts to preserve it as a national heritage at an excellent location. However, I felt that attention to the environmental upkeeping has reduced. Entrance and exit road has deteriorated due to poor maintenance. Perhaps this could be due to on going drop of tourist incoming and consequent impact on the income.
Cleanliness of room should be given more attention, specially to minimize dust deposits on the floor corners. The room rates are competitive as compared with similar hotels in Kandy. However, that itself is inadequate to progress in business and make the guests happy, those who can be grumblers for cleanliness and personal hygine." - Anonymous

"excellent hotel great history..........fine staff." - GLENN HARBECK
"Charming old hotel which once was Mountbatten's HQ. Polished wood and parquet floors abound. Our room (a double) was huge, we could have challenged the staff to a game of cricket in there. Sparsely furnished with aging pieces all adding to the quaintness. Good food, attentive helpful staff, good value. Far enough out of town for peace, close enough for easy access (2 mins in a tuktuk) " - Andrew Foster
