Hotel Tara Palace New Delhi

Free Wifi in lobby was good. You can take own laptop or use their computer. Food was OK but my wife repeatedly said that she wanted ZERO spicy spring rolls and could not eat them when they came. I did and they were good, but not what she ordered and certainly not what the front desk said we would get. Front desk guys were generally very honest and very helpful, and very good at explaining what was going on at the hotel. Breakfast was OK. Room was small, but OK. We had deluxe which I guess gave us a little window but small and no view. For me, the location was perfect - near the Red Fort and J. Mosque. Some say the area is dangerous, dirty, whatever. I think it is normal for India. Poor does not mean dangerous! Hotel pickup was perfect. We would stay there again.

The surrounding area was hard to navigate around as we had a physically challenged child with us, but the hotel and hotel staff were very nice.

Value for money, clean and great location in Old Delhi. They even put on a complimentary meal and cake for New Year's eve. Free pickup a bonus and reliable as well. Highly recommend

Impressively clean and well kept hotel. Located in the heart of the city with excellent access to everything (but do keep in mind that Delhi is very chaotic and hence so are this hotel's surroundings). The room (201) was quiet, except for the fact that one could easily hear the sounds of the doors being opened and shut in the corridor. The staff was extremely helpful but the food served for dinner was quite spicy (didn't unfortunately have the opportunity to have breakfast due to very early departure). Excellent internet access in the room (through cable) but not the best of TV receptions. Overall a surprisingly good experience in Delhi!

This hotel is newly renovated (Apr 07). Room facilities is quite good and modern compared with other budget hotels (indian standard) in Delhi and Mumbai. Located in an alley in Old Delhi, near Red Fort. No email reply about free airport pickup, but finally after a phone call, agree to pick up.

The hotel is very close to many tourist attractions such as the Red Ford and Jama Mashid, however, the area is not clean but for me it was ok since I go out most of the day. And the hotel is not in a main road so please remember to take a walk around the hotel to remember the area instead of getting lost at night. If you get lost just ask for the Cycle Market, or look for McDonalds which is within a walking distance from the Cycle Market in which the hotel is located. The TV. has many channels but most of them are Hindi, the restaurant's menue is for Vegetarians (no meat dishes). The hotel can get a little bit noisy at night (people talking near rooms) but you can always contact a member of staff. Last but not least, Hotel staff are very friendly and they can arrange a very cheap "whole day" taxi. And please remember, this is not Hilton or the Ritz.
