Getting there:If youre driving from Melbourne airport put aside approximately 40 minutes by car to reach the hotel. A taxi journey will cost between $50 and $60. Alternatively, for only $16 simply jump on the Skybus Airport Shuttle and be transported directly into the city (only $16 per person each way). From here a taxi can take you to the hotel in 10 to 15 minutes. Once you reach the hotel, you will find a Fitzroy street tram stop right outside our doorstep just waiting to take you to a variety of Melbourne destinations.
Check-in Procedure:Check-in time is from 2pm. Complimentary luggage storage is available for guests arriving before 2pm.
Car parking:Convenient and secure undercover car parking is located at the back of the hotel for $15 per day.
Child Policy:Children who are under the age of 16 may stay for free at Urban St Kilda, using existing bedding. A complimentary roll-away bed is also available for children. A maximum of 2 adults may stay in a room (all bar our Superior Room type). An alternative is to hire comfortable roll-away beds for $40 per adult per night.
The staff were wonderful. Free internet downstairs and a really good cafe are great extras, but the hotel's real value is the location in St. Kilda's seaside entertainment district (easily accessible via tramlines) and the cleanly designed and well maintained rooms available at rates that were, for our early October visit, a real bargain.

Very comfortable beds and quite and friendly location.
Good location although car parking and reception hard to find if arriving late at night. Smooth check in and rooms were good size and excellent bathrooms. Good eating options nearby and Acland Street resaurants an easy walk away. Tram 96 takes you past the excellent South Melbourne Markets right into Bourke Street Mall so no car is no problem.

I was very impressed with the staff and hotel. The staff were quick to know who their arriving guests were. The hotel room and its facilities were modern, luxurious and very clean (and surprisingly quiet). The hotel is also located in a highly convenient location – near many cafés/restaurants/bars, trams to various parts of Melbourne, and only about a $20 taxi fare to the city. However, I would suggest guests be aware of their personal safety whilst on the main street in the evenings. The staff were also very keen to answer our questions – ie recommendations on restaurants, shopping, how to catch public transport, etc. The rate for each night was very good value.
What a surprise - just a doorway onto fitzroy st...you could walk straight past...that would be a shame...really enjoyed my 3 nights stay...cool funky sort of place to be - reception staff did a great job
All aspects of the hotel were great - clean, convenient, quiet, staff friendly and extremely helpful. Overall experience was pleasant and very relaxing. Have done a lot of travellling both in Australia and overseas and the bed was definitely THE most comfortable of ANY bed in ANY hotel we have ever stayed in. Would certainly look at staying here again and would recommend to friends - or anyone - especially if attending concerts, shows etc at the Palais Theatre. Only suggestion we would make is that it would be helpful if the corresponding buttons in the lift were marked with "Reception" and "Car Park" etc ... the car park is actually on "Level 1" and, like us, a number of other guests were quite confused and disoriented, especially when you enter the hotel via the car park (at the rear of the property) - it makes sense that Reception would be "Level 0" but it's not immediately apparent that the car park is actually "Level 1".
I was pleasantly surprised, tucked in behind the street front of shops and restaurants at St Kilda. The rooms were quiet, clean, cosy and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable and the hot water in the shower was hot. The staff were friendly and helpful. I definitely enjoyed the stay and thought it was good value for money and great location.

This was a lovely hotel - right at the heart of Fitzroy St surrounded by great restaurants and bars, a short tram ride to the city and a nice walk to st kilda beach - and i love the decor - really funky - check out the wallpaper in the lifts - very melbourne!

Parking was an issue, couldn't find carpark and got stuck in the Prince carpark as I was not advised there were two next to each other... bit hard to see at night. But the bed was very very comfortable so made up for it.

The position was excellent with a good choice of places to Dine in the street the Hotel is on ! The staff couldn't have been more helpful ! Although positioned in a busy location the hotel itself was very quiet ! Very good access to the CBD in Melbourne via the frequent Trams from out the front of the Hotel !
