The location of the hotel almost makes up for the small room and so-so staff. I had to keep switching the breaker on and off so the electricity in the room would work, but the bathroom was nice and very new, and the room was fine as a place to crash after full days of sight seeing. Far too expensive for what the room was though, barely wide enough for the 2 twin beds, even by European hotel standards.
GREAT location, clean and friendly but they did not have working wifi the entire four days I was there. Even if they did, don't expect to get a strong enough connection on the fourth floor. The hotel staff was nice and recommended using the internet at their sister site, International Hotel just a couple blocks away which provide free working wifi and computer stations. I had a street-side room on the 4th floor and now know what all the other reviews were talking about as far as the loud noises going on until 5am! However, when the balcony door was shut, I didn't hear a sound so just make sure you get one of the rooms with the sound-proof windows and you'll be fine! As it goes with other hotels in Europe, there was no ice machine available. I wasn't even able to call the front desk from the phone.
We were delighted with our stay in the Hotel Oriente, it is well located on La Rambla. We had a balcony room which was excellent. The hotel staff were extremly helpfull. We then had to move to another Husa operated hotel , the Intenational, just across the street which was equally as good, We have no hesitation in recomending these hotels to friends etc. Were the opertunity to present itself we would comeback.
This Hotel is in a great location for getting around the city. The staff were plesant and helpful. It would be nice if it had a bar that you could have a drink at night. I would stay here again.
This hotel is in a great area on the Ramblas. the rooms were fairly average but clean and the breakfast was very good and served in a lovely breakfast room.
Described as spacious rooms,-but thats an overstatement.Twinbeds, one chair and a small table and just enough room to move around. No shelves in the bathroom to put the toiletarticles and no minibar to keep any water or beverages refrigerated. But the location was super and the small balcony as well.
We had no service whatsoever at the hotel although it was very very clean and in an excellent location. We also had builders outside our room wake us up at 7.30 each morning.
The only problem with the hotel is that it is very noisy due to it's location on The Ramblas - it does not help that there is a bottle bank and refuse bins alongside the hotel which is emptied in the very early hours of the morning. Moving this and improvemnt to the hotels double glazing would help greatly
great location, room was updated, small but comfortable and quiet.
Rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy, especially at the weekend. The Rambla is a busy street!
This hotel is in the heart of it and the staff were very helpful.
Right in the heart of the action. Rooms have what you need, are clean and have been renovated in minimal style but this hotel is about the location more than the rooms. Great to access to all the city has to offer. Front rooms have small balcony to watch the parades go by. Can be noisy but that's Barcelona !
The staff at the reception were fantastic.
Comfortable hotel in a great location. We would stay there again.
Good hotel. Breakfast was adequate. Staff very helpful.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.
Not a luxury hotel but a very nice hotel for a short-break. It has a beautiful eating room. Friendly staf.
Fantastic location right in the middle of La Rambla. Hotel staff were discreet until required and more than helpful. The rooms facing the street can be very noisy with traffic and people "doing" La Rambla but it only really posed a problem when we went for a siesta before going out in the evening. Not a family hotel perhaps, but good nonetheless.
This hotel wins hands down on location - right on Las Ramblas, within walking distance of the Barri Gotic and the Port. It is still in the process of refurbishment - they were painting the entrance hall while we were there. Otherwise a very pleasant stay. Excellent buffet breakfast including fresh pineapple and chocolate doughnuts! Staff were courteous and helpful and the room clean and a reasonable size for a centrally located hotel.
The Hotel is still undergoing referbishment of its main Dining area, and rooms facing the Ramblas. As a result some services are a bit limited. However, the rooms and areas that are complete are extremely good, the staff were most helpful, the breakfast choice was excellent and the location perfect for exploring the City. We were very pleased to have selected the Oriente and we would happily stay there again if asked.
