Stayed here with a party of 8 lads as part of a trip to Santiago & La Coruna. A very good value for money budget hotel that is clean, and is run with some nice friendly and helpful staff. The location is absolutely excellent, positioned between the new and old city, making geting about very easy. In terms of service and facilities - you get what you pay for.so don't expect any luxuries! Overall, if you want a good value, no frills but clean functional place to get your head down at night, with a location that can't be beat, you won't go far wrong with this place. Highly recommended for the price.

The prime advantage of this hotel is its location - right in the centre of the city and within 150 metres of the old city and its numerous delights. It is not luxurious, but is well used and for a short stay in this wonderful city it is more than adequate.

I am a return customer. The hotel is minimilist in confort but the price for the convenient location and ease to make the reservation can´t be beat. Only complaint that if you have back trouble (as did a companion of mine), that the springs on the bed are not the best.

The hotel is very central. The front desk staff extremely helpful. Our room was newly renovated and were bright and clean on the seventh floor witha view of the cathedral. The elevator only goes to the sixth floor and walk to the seventh. Worth it for the quietness and the view. The airport bus stops about 200 metres from the hotel in rua de doutor teixeiro.

Bus for airport leaves from outside the door: 3 euro. Hotel is two minutes walk from old town, also near a Carrefour. Rooms comfy, clean and warm. Useful room for meetings; breakfast of coffee/ rolls available. We'd a good stay here.

The location of the hotel was very good. The ryanair bus stopped right outside the hotel. The hotel was in the very centre of Santigo. It was freezing in Santiago last week and the heating did not come on until after 10.00 at night. The room was very cold. When I asked about the heating I was told that it was just coming on but unfortunately it never did.

Friendly reception. A bit worn. Stair carpets had definitely seen better days. Very convenient situation. A bit lack lustre breakfast, but on the whole a pleasant stay.

excellent location, good basic hotel

The Husa Universal Hotel, Santiago de Compostela was good value being very central for the historic part of the city, restaurants and shops. The reception staff and the chambermaid were cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately the dining room staff (breakfast only) were very unwelcoming and surly. The breakfast was of the typical continental variety and was satisfactory. If only the ladies had smiled and said "Good morning". All in all good value for money.

Front desk staff were particularly helpful and went out of their way to assist me in resolving an unexpected problem. The front desk staff also speaks English which is particularly helpful when unusual problems arise and need to be resolved. High marks for the staff.

Helpful reception staff.

Hotel is a great location, about 10-15 minutes walking to the Cathedral, and about 10 minutes or less from the train station, which is where rental cars can be left, even if you have rented one from the airport. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel is very good for not very demanding guests, and offers you good value for your money. The single rooms are quite small, but it's allright if you need them just for the night. The location is excellent - right next to the city centre!
