Once arrived in "Tasso square" take the Buses line, destination Port of Sorrento

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at II Faro Hotel and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, particularily Nina in the breakfast room. We were given a family room overlooking the port of Sorrento which was very large. We also ate at the restaurant which was excellent. As we were staying at the hotel we enjoyed a 10pc discount at the restaurant. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great location. Linen was tatty and frayed, shampoo etc was not replenished daily. Internet was 'broken'. There was a very noisy teenage girl school party which made it very unpleasant and difficult to sleep. The guy on the desk was most helpful though.

We stayed 2 nights in Il Faro Hotel. The location is ideal for the ferries to/from Naples and Capri. There is however a series of very steep steps up into Tasso Square (Sorrento Centre). The ascent by steps to the square takes no more than 10 minutes, but is very steep. The hotel was fine. The room was extremely spacious. It is an older hotel, so some of the facilities need updating. The bathroom facilities were not great (problem with the cistern), but for 2 nights, this hotel is adequate, and reasonably priced.
After the long trip from the USA we were delighted to spend 2 nights in the Il Faro Hotel. It's location is superb and we loved the easy access to the buses to take us to shopping and restaurants. We took a late night stroll to the seaside - just steps away - every night before retiring. The clean room and nice breakfast were just what we needed. We would recommend this spot to any traveler.

A no-frills hotel - room was basic but functional. Hotel is absolutely perfectly located for the metro-del-mare departure point just outside the door, just metres away from Sorrento's marina piccola (the small port) and a pleasant but quirky steep uphill walk to Sorrento's main towncentre. If you want to lounge around your hotel then this place is not for you - stay at home and watch tv instead. If you want to be up and about and simply need somewhere to lay your head, then Il Faro fits the bill just nicely.
An excellent location for catching ferries, e.g. to Capri. Very friendly service. The breakfast is good.
A splendid, clean hotel in a nice part of Sorrento, friendly staff and wonderful views of the Marina Piccola. I would stay here again.

Very friendly - great location for boat trips/boat hire which is best way to see Neapolitan coast. Breakfast v average and no cafe/bar/room service etc available. But for basic requirements, good. Bathroom v small and quite grotty, but it all worked.
