Getting there:TO REACH THE HOTEL BY CAR: 1)From any Bologna highway exit get the Tangenziale and catch exit N° 6 (Corticella) 2)drive along Via Corticella on the way to Downtown (CENTRO) up to Piazza dell’Unità(2 km). 3)Turn right into Via Bolognese till the end of the street. 4)Turn left into Via Fioravanti. 5)Turn left at the third street left in Via Zampieri. 6)Turn left into Via Di Vincenzo. 7)Turn right into Via Albani. 8)Turn right in Via L.Serra where you will find the Hotel. TO REACH THE HOTEL FROM THE TREIN STATION WALKING: 1a) On Piazza Medaglie d’Oro leave the Station walking left along Viale Piteramellara. 2a)turn left and catch the bridge crossing over the railway.1b)From the subway of the Station follow the signs to “Uscita ponte Matteotti” (platform 10). 2b)at the end of the steps go left down the bridge along Via Matteotti. 3)at the end of the bridge turn at the second cross light left into via Tiarini, then the first street right is Via L.Serra where you will find the Hotel.

Hotel staff were fabulous. Value for money is good, but paper-thin walls means it is a very noisy hotel when guests move around, or enter and leave at night. Noisy plumbing.
We found the location good, it was nice and quiet, close enough to walk to the train station, and to the main part of town.

The hotel has just recently been renovated and was very comfortable and good value for what we paid. Its close to the train station and bus stop which takes you directly to the city center. Would definitely stay here again.

The coffe maker had a plug that did not fit the avaible wall sockets. The pricing was ex. breakfast. Breakfast 6 Euro. Close to the railway station and main street.
The hotel has a very good location. The price was very good. The room was small but we have a balcony as a 2. room. The bathroom was small butvery nice with all comfort. The breakfast was perfect with a reasonable price. I liked this hotel.
Guercino is a very nice, priceworth hotel well located in Bologna. The service is excellent and the rooms above a 3 star standard. Warmly recommended.
This is my third visit to Il Guercino and the same problem each time is that the air conditioning is almost useless.
Two rooms that we looked at were small and dark for our liking. The reception staff was very accomodating, wanting us to be happy and we found one that was roomier and brighter for the two of us. Breakfast was an extra 5 euros each but it was good for the variety. The hotel is clean and the surrounding is quiet, though near it is busy and noisy being near Central Station. As such it was convenient for transport.
Hotel is full of character, and located approx 7 minutes walk from Bologna Train station, in opposite direction to the city centre. Facilties were modern and clean, and very comfortable. The hotel recommended a great local restaurant for Italian, try to book in advance if possible. Very popular with the locals it seams.
Not what I expected with unusual 60s decor but clean. Off the city map and on the opposite end of the old town. However, good if you want to stay close to the train station for travelling out of Bologna.
very charmingly decorated small hotel; emphais of hotel appears to be in the visual (very pretty) rather than actual room comfort (e.g. no towel bars or hooks or anywhere to hang wet towels, inadequate soundproofing, extemely dusty patio and patio furniture... uncomfortable mattress..probably needs to be replaced) Nice breakfast room. Nice staff at front desk. Arrived on a very hot day in mid-May, unable to make any of the room temperature controls or fan work, was told that the unexpected (early) warm weather meant there was no way for the existing air/con or even the fan to function! "Open the window"..very hot outside w no breeze...so??? too bad? I would have preferred just a comfortable room.
Il Guercino Hotel Bologna is very nice hotel behind the Railway station. It has very spacious rooms, very clean and comfortable. It is little bit walking distance from hotel to the city center. Next time we are in Bologna definately going to stay in Il Guercino Hotel Bologna.
This hotel is very close to the railway station but is ticked away so is nice and quiet. A really cute place with very friendly and helpful staff. I it of a walk from the main area but there is a bus that goes straight there if you are tired after a day of shopping.
