Ilion Hotel is located in the heart of the city of Athens. Well located 1 block from Omonia Metro stop. Desk staff very helpful. Breakfast buffet better than expected with a full range of options - cereal, yogurt, toast, eggs both hard cooked and fried, cold meats and cheese, olives, coffee,tea, hot chocolate, juice. Hotel is on a busy street so lots of street noise - ask for a room away from the street. Inside is quiet - we never saw or heard other guests except at breakfast. Neighborhood is busy on weekdays well into the evening, mostly shuttered on Sunday evening. A working neighborhood not a tourist area.

Basic hotel in the center of Athens which means easy access to all the tourist attractions,but also not very nice neighborhood.Ok for people who seek a place just to sleep.
Friendly helpful staff. The location is central and very close to Omonia square where there is a metro station. Reasonable breakfast.
The staff were particularly helpful and very friendly. My only fault was that the breakfast wasn't great. Would definitely stay here again though - great value!
Located conveniently just off a busy square with Metro station but also just into a particularly seedy district. Helpful staff and entirely pleasant within the hotel. Rooms a little tight. Occasional Serbian High School party taking over the hotel can make breakfast an adventure. Free street parking possible in vicinity.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags at reception on the morning of departure and collect them later in the day. Landings and corridors seemed to be stuffy and always smelled of cigarette smoke but at least there was air conditioning in the bedroom. Don't think the hotel staff check very well for dud lightbulbs. A lot of street noise was audible, even on the 7th floor. The breakfast buffet was quite adequate although certainly not of high quality.
