Wanningstraat 1 1071 LA Amsterdam
Traveling through Europe? Then you definitely need to make a stop in Amsterdam, the city with lots of excitement and things to do... We have (private) dorms, single, double, triple and quad rooms available at a very good price. All our rooms are non-smoking and no drugs allowed. Single and double rooms also have television. All our rooms have their own bathroom. The hostel is located in the city center. Just behind the Concert Hall and a short walk to the Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum. Not interested in museums, we are also only a short walk away from the Leidseplein, the place in Amsterdam to go out...
Check-in Time: 2:00 PM
Check-out Time: 11:00 AM
Getting there:The most convenient and extensive to get around is by tram. Most trams run to and from Centraal Station. Number 2,5 & 16 are the ones that run closest to the hotel and stop adjacent to the Van Gogh museum or the Concert Hall is the best place to jump on and off. Within walking distance of the hotel. Tram 2 or 5, get off at Paulus Potterstraat (Van Gogh Museum), walk straight into Willemsparkweg, take first left and then first right, the hostel is at the left-handside on the corner (Wanningstraat) Tram 16, get off at the Amsterdam Concert House. Wanningstraat is a sidestreet of Van Breestraat.
Check-in Procedure:Our rooms are ready at 2 pm, but you can always check-in before and leave your luggage with us.
Car parking:Our hotel does not have a hotelparking. It is paid parking in the neigbourhood.
Child Policy:A child can come for free if he/she is not using an extra bed.
We arrived and the front desk girl was very nice. The rooms were very clean, I feel very comfortable staying here again. It was a very small room but no big deal to me. It is kinda out of the way if you are wanting to stay by the train station. They did not have alarm clocks or wake up calls. So if you are needing to get up early make sure you have your own alarm. The breakfast was very good. The only thing I did not care for was that there were about 8 young rough lookin men hanging out in the lobby on the computers. (they didn't look like they were staying at the hotel)
Double check as u share the room with others. Location was good.
good breakfast and very clean rooms. will stay again next visit
hotel very clean and will come back again next visit to amsterdam plus good breakfast as well
The hotel was perfect for us located on several tram routes and in a reasonably quiet part of town. The room and breakfast were more than adequate. I would definitely recommend for a budget visit to Amsterdam
The hotel is a real bargain for a good location near tram lines. The breakfast is adequate and free. Internet on the ground floor is pretty good and free, none in the rooms which also lack phones. Definitely not fancy but a tremendous value.
good location, friendly service and little but clean and bright rooms (big window). ideal for short stays. i heard people complain about the noise (thin walls) but that comes mostly from people who live in small towns. for me as a big city habitant it was totally ok.
Too expensive, far from city centre, rooms small and looked more like a backpacker hostel whereas I paid a lot for that room.
Although their web-site stated that rooms contain 6 beds, there were 8 beds in the room, which was MORE THAN CROWDED. Any ways, it is OK for a maximum 2 nights stay for those who are not expecting to stay in the hotel for more than a short sleep. Concerning the price, it is fine.
in a very good place with a very good price.if u need a bed and a good breakfast before yr "attack" to amsterdam i think is a very good hotel... also very good and smily staff at the reception...
The room was small but comfortable. Very good location with easy access to the city centre and 5-10 minutes walk to Van Gogh Museum. Close to the hotel many tram and bus stops.
Backpacker Hotel - good if you want that. Not if you work and want a good nights sleep.
This hotel is located just close enough to the center to make it walkable when the trams stop running, and just far enough so you don't hear the hustle and bustle of the center at night. The only thing that I would say is that the walls are very thin and people seem to be coming and going at all times of the night and if your room is right by the stairway as mine was, then you will have constant interruptions throughout the night. Apart from that if you want somewhere it just leave your things and sleep, then this is a great place for just that,
I usually would not stay here but had over-budgeted on the flight. I was not expecting a great deal due to the very meagre price I paid for the room. It was a 6 share room but luckily only one other person was there. The matress was comfortable. The WC was adequate. The staff were friendly. There was a free breakfast. There was also a free internet service which you could use for 15 minutes although there were only two computers and they were usually occupied. The negative points was the location in relation to central Amsterdam. I made the mistake of walking from central station and it took 1 hour 15 minutes. However I quickly learnt that the number 5 tram was literally right outside the hotel and it only took a 10 minute ride back into the centre. Overall a good experience
The double room we had was average - ensuite bathroom with a TV. It's a bit small but we didn't stay much in the room. The breakfast had average selection of food. There were two internet terminals to use for free. Came in handy when we needed to do online check-in. It's restricted to 15 mins usage if someone was waiting so it was quite fast. Location wise, it's walking distance to Rijksmuseum and van Gogh museum. The hotel is possible to walk from Amsterdam city but tram 2 and 5 are convenient enough to get you anywhere you want, including the windmill at the end of tram line 2.
For a 2 star hotel it had what one expects. a room, a shower and was clean. Breakfast included and free internet in reception if your prepared to wait for a free PC. Very close to the Van Gogh museum and there is a tram direct into central station. Very quiet location but only 10 min from bars (HardRock) and the Bols cocktail museum
A very nice and, most importantly, CLEAN Hostel very close to the Concert Gebouw and Van Gough Museums. Impressed. James Derbyshire
They were short on rooms when we arrived due to an unexpected situation. They booked a room for us in a 4-star hotel within the same distance to the central area and paid for the taxi for us to go there. We sat at the lobby just for a while. Therefore we can only make reliable comments on the service in regard of the incident.
Very small rooms, poor breakfast. great location (quiet, close to several museums and tram).
The staff were very friendly but the hotel was very basic and i would be unsure of the hygene after watching the guy who suppervised breakfast drop the top of the sugar dispenser on the floor pick it up and put it straight back into the sugar only after i looked and shook my head did he remove from the table
