"From the InterContinental's website and reviews on here i was looking forward to my stay, however upon arrival i found the hotel room and decor quiet tired.
While our check in was rather efficient we had no explanation re breakfast where it was served or any details.
We were told to speak with the concierge who was supposedly very "knowledgable" about different the sites however when questioned about Paddington markets, it was like pulling teeth to try and get some advice on transport & location he simply kept saying "catch a taxi", but didnt offer any other cheaper forms of transport.
our last day there (Sunday) i wanted to go to Bondi and visit the markets, the concierge informed me that the markets were directly opposite the beach and open 10am - 4pm after a 45min bus trip we learnt they were not open, which i was not very impressed about.
I wouldnt recommend this hotel nor would i go back there especially for the time poor who want details and correct information" - Anonymous
"If you're visiting Sydney to sightsee - this is a great location close to Circular Quay. If you're visiting to shop - you may want to stay closer to the city centre. Service in the Opera Restaurant was hit and miss - ambience and service was better in the Cortile Bar. Gym was well equipped with great views. Would stay here again if on business." - Anonymous
"My wife and I were only at the Intercontinental for one night and we didn't want to leave. Definitely upgrade to a club room so you can use the club lounge, the view is extraordinary." - Anthony Borton
"great location, friendly and helpful staff.love the window seat" - Mary McElwee
