Getting there:Located at the heart of Barcelona,a few steps away from Las ramblas, Plaza de Catalunya. Excellent comunications. The closest Metro station is Liceu, Metro Line 3, and the station of Sant Antoni, Metro Line 2 and there are also buses close to the Residence. It is well connected to the rest of the city by different public transportation means. In Plaza Catalunya, just five minutes from the Hall of Residence, there is the railway station of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat and RENFE and different BUS stops for buses that provide regular service from the city centre to the airport and viceversa.

Free Wi-Fi service, room-cleaning every day, and breakfast makes us very happy.
A nice and central location but in a bad district (drug area).. The staff was very kind and recommendable :o)
Great location right near La Rambles. Safe hotel, with night security. Didn´t need shoes for shower, a plus!! Breakfast basic but good variety. Staff slow with more than one task but very friendly and helpful on request. Excellent for the price.

Location is awesome, its in the middle of everything in la ramblas, its 2 min walk from the metro station. braekfast is good, of cours rooms are not wow but over all its good value for money..
Nice and clean hotel with friedly staff. If you like La Rambla, this is your choice. Short walking distance to night-life but however silent during night. Fast internet access and also breakfast is good enough. I liked very much!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to spend too much money on relatively expensive hotels in Barcelona. The place is clean, staff very friendly, situated just a few steps from La Rambla. Good value for money.
This hotel was really wonderful to stay at, compared to other budget hotels. The room, was very clean and had all the necessities we could need. I stayed there in August, which was very hot, but inside our room the airconditioning kept everything at a wonderfully cool temperature. The bathroom was really nice as well. The breakfast (which is included in the more than reasonable price) wasn't all that exciting, but it was fulfilling and sufficed. The service was great as well - everyone was so friendly and kind, and the general standard of the hotel was really good. The location was perfect and even though we were right in the city centre, we were rarely bothered by any noise at all. The neighbourhood was also really good and lively, and I never felt unsafe when walking home at night, even though we were just two girls. All in all, a really good hotel at a more than reasonable price. I can't wait for my next trip to Barcelona, and definitely plan to return to Investigadors!
No frill accommodation for price conscious. Expect only the basics in the room. Great location right by La Rambla and Metro. Surprised to find that mostly matured tourists stay here rather than students, as there're tons of student hostels around. Would explore more options for next visit.
Clean, somewhat Spartan. This staff is very courteous. Perhaps a bit more expensive than warranted, but a very convenient location.
The room was very clean and nice. There was a bathroom in the room, generall opinion very good. Breakfast was also ok. I would go there again.
My husband and I have just returned from Barcelona where we stayed at Investigadors Students Residence for two nights and we were pleased with our choice. Firstly, it was very inexpensive (compared to comparable hotels in the area), the room though not very attractive was spotlessly clean and the breakfast (included in the price) was more than adequate. The location just two blocks from the Ramblas was excellent and the young man at reception was most helpful. For anyone on a budget I would certainly recommend it. ADW from New York City.
This is an excellent location just a few steps from La Ramblas mall. The staff are absolutely lovely and extremely helpful and went the extra mile to help me out of a tricky situation. The room is big and very clean and the breakfast is great quality. Im very impressed.
A good place to rest for the night close to Las Ramblas, 24-hour reseption. Very good location to access metro and the Ramblas / Barri Gotic area. Good value for money! If you want cheaper, stay at youth hostels.
Bare room but it got a bed and a bathroom so everything needed was there.

Decent basic accommodations. It's a converted college dormitory, so the rooms are very plain and have no charm. Location is convenient but in a slightly scary part of town. The staff was friendly and helpful.
