Isla Gecko Resort Boracay

The hotel is set about 3-4 minutes from the beach down a small and dingy path. If you want to be closer to the shopping/mall area than the beach- this is a great spot. The staff are super! Very helpful with any needs (tours, airport transfers, restaurant suggestions). Nice and quiet family run place where you get a clean room at a great price.

The hotel is not beach front but it is very near the beach.. about 10meters away. and the best part is, it is just beside D'Mall.. Also, the staff in the hotel are really very nice and friendly... the hotel is safe too with a security guard during nighttime... and although it is very near d'mall and the beach, their place isnt noisy.. you can really relax when you get back to your room..

The lady owner of the hotel is very accommodating and hospitable including the staff and her brother who does the maintenance of the hotel. Location is very near the beach line, shopping mall, restos and bars. One thing very nice with the hotel is it is wifi, easy to work while taking a much needed rest.

The room is really just okay for sleeping and the resort provided a warm welcome. But the scent of the wood that covers almost the entire building gives clothes an unusual smell.

THE ARRIVAL: February 21, 2009 (2-night stay) THE ACCESSIBILITY: The location(Station 2) was perfect; it was near D' Mall (hunger and souvenir craving were easily satiated) and just a 30-second walking distance from the white beach. Both routes (going to D'Mall and white beach) were safe as well. THE ABODE: Isla Gecko was a lovely place to stay , the hotel was clean and quite unique in its design. We loved the room where we stayed. There was none to complain about. Though most of the time we were outside, there was never a time to think twice about going back for a rest. THE ATTENDANTS: The staff did well with providing service and answering queries. Miss Mae, the owner, provided clear directions and was very hospitable - a plus. THE ANALYSIS: It took me some time to carefully choose from an online list of hotels before deciding on Isla Gecko. No regrets. My wife and I decided to stay at Isla Gecko last week during my first-time visit to Boracay. I did not regret that decision. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel may be modest and suitable for budget travellers but you'll be surprised by their good customer service and well-maintained facilities. I had the chance to meet Mae(the owner)and her able staff Jhun, Virluz, and Baby, who all made our stay comfortable.

The stay was very nice. The owner fetched me from the port. They serve big breakfast. The place is homey and quiet, and everyone is friendly. One of the best hotel stays in my life. I will really return to that place. It is in the middle of everything. Near the beach, near the mall, near the market, near the main road. I didn't have a hard time going to places. And also Mae gives me itenerary for the day~watersports for the cheapest price. I was never bored.

Quality establishment in the budget price bracket. Air con, clean facilities, friendly and very helpful staff. Location to white beach, boulabog and all restaurants etc was perfect. Would recommend highly.
