Jade International Youth Hotel Beijing Guest Reviews

4.4 out of 5

Located close to The Forbidden City, which is very good. No noise at night. WifFi facilities didn´t always function, otherwise nothing to complaint of. Could easily be our choice of hotel next time i Beijing.

4.2 out of 5

The front office staff are particularly helpful on tourist and Beijing queries and pleasant to all guests. The bar and restaurant area is a cozy area to meet up with fellow travellers or have a meal, drink or just relax. The wireless internet is a popular service in the hostel. There is a casual atmosphere in the hostel which suits me. It was quiet and safe in the hostel for myself and my personal belongings and I especially liked this. The hostel was patronized by a wide demographic which made the place even more interesting. I just can't think of any complaints to make about my stay.

One disadvantage is that it is in an alley off the main road. The signage on the main road could be more prominent to assist taxis who are surprised that there is a hotel/hostel at that location. The alley leading to the hostel is quite dim at night but safe. My check in was fast. The front office were helpful and pleasant although having difficulty understanding english. My toilet and room were clean. The buffet breakfast had a good content. The bar and restaurant area was a cozy place for either drinks or dinner or both. The hostel will probably have to consider a expansion of the bar and restaurant area as there appeared to be a shortage of space/tables when a big group dined in the bar restaurant area. The wireless internet which was available on the 1st floor of the hostel was a popular facility used by many and most of the hostel quests. There is very little if any to complain about the hostel which provided a reasonably comfortable stay.

Quite impersonal. Expensive restaurant. I was provided a very worn and torn hand towel in the bathroom. Dim lighting in room. Stingy with toilet paper--2 small rolls provided per day. Some staff try hard at the job--I think training is wanting.

Generally it is ok, clean, friendly staff. Convenient to go to the market street or to tour sites like Forbidden City and Tiannamen Square. Also easy access for public transports. Room is simple but clean. That is most important to me, same thing for the bathroom, even though it is kind of small but clean. Have good facilities too. There is the internet cafe, nice cosy lobby as well. With such price there is nothing to be complained about. Highly recommended if you are not a 5 star hotel goer.

Perfect place (also for "older" travellers) who want a terrific location and service rather than 5 star luxury - clean, good rates what more do you need?

An excellent hostel that is far better in terms of quality, service and facilities than many Western hotels. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the facilities the hostel has to offer were first class. The restaurant served excellent meals from both its Chinese and Western food menus and was very well priced. We ended up staying another two nights in Beijing and had no hesitation in extending our stay here.

I like this Jade since its pricing quite reachable, its location close to the some good places, a historical places as well like The Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square, so as Wangfujing Streets. Right close to the hotel (just walk to the right and then right once more to The Forbidden City) also a Muslim Restaurant (Mat'amul Islami) wich is apparently pork available there (Ups). Thank you for everything.

Our family of 4 (we had 2 rooms next to each other) stayed here during the Olympics and found the staff and hotel to be fabulous. The staff were very friendly, helpful and also had a a good command of English. The hotel rooms where always very clean, with clean linen and towels every day and the air conditioning a God send. There is an electric kettle in your room so you can make your own cup of tea. Breakfast was more than adequate with a variety of dishes to choose from (both western and Asian). The hotel is in a good location, with a both a supermarket and yummy Chinese restaurant just around the corner. There is also a hotel laundry, where you can do your own washing, which is both easy to use and quite reasonably priced. Only minus no fridge in room or pool. We would stay here again and can recommend it to any travellers to this interesting part of the world.

The Jade is great! Fantastic location on an alley off of a beautiful tree lined street, only a couple of blocks east of the forbidden city. In the middle of Beijing, but QUIET! Staff extremely friendly and helpful and english-speaking. Icy cold half-dollar large Tsingdao beers in the lobby, who could want more? ----Tom from Alaska
