Free shuttle TO the Railway Station. From airport call 'SuperShuttle' on freephone at arrivals, $21 for 2 people. Walk alongside Hagley Park from city centre or catch #7 bus. Easy walk to CBS Canterbury (formerly Westpac) Arena and Addigton Raceway. Driving: Lincoln Rd is off Moorehouse Ave, or off Southern Arterial Motorway.

The jail is clean, comfortable with super friendly staff. However, It doesn't have any heating systems in the cells, fortunately it wasn't that cold when I stayed in ChCh. The beds are so warm and confortable though. There is no reception available from 10PM to 8AM next day.

Awesome location! great use of a historic landmark combined with a friendly, helpfull staff! within walking distance to most everything in the heart of the city. Also, bus stop is located right across the street as well. I would stay there again anytime!

Worth trying if only to say that you've stayed in jail! It's a bit out of the centre (15 min walk, bus goes every 15 min, 4 or 5 stops). Staff very friendly. Ideal if you've just arrived in Christchurch from Europe and you want some peace and quiet to get over jetleg.
