This hotel has both positives and negatives. Very low price,clean sheets and carpet. Almost no English spoken, in a very Chinese part of town, and no airport shuttle bus that was advertised and the main reason we chose it. The restaurant was very dirty and it took two hours to get our food, part of which never arrived, yet they tried to charge us for all of it. The area of town had very little to offer foreigners. No nightlife, but we did find a nice fruit stand.
Very dated appearance but clean. Long way from the heart of Shanghai. 120 RMB each way in a taxi. Very limited English by front of hotel staff and proved difficult to get useful information or queries answered. Cheap and cheerful for a short stay and close to Pudong airport. Free shuttle to and from airport is very handy!
The rooms had mould and marks on the rims of sinks etc as this was a transit stay we did not really care. The facilituies were average but it did have 2 restaurants in the building that served really very nice food and included an airport pickup. The staff were very nice but no one spoke english so communications was difficult keeping the service rating lower. Being less than 20 mins from Pudong was invaluable for transit so if this venue was done up it would definitely get alot of passing trade as the airport hotel is very expensive and the costs here were excellent.
This hotel was very good, and right near the airport. Only problenm we had was with a typing error which almost lead to them charging us twice when checking in. The cleaners were excellent.
This is an old hotel very close to the Shanghai Airport. Smell of sigarettes is everywhere in the hotel especially in the lift and this was very annoying and hotel is not very clean. However we liked its location, cause this hotel is located in the middle of a typical Chinese shopping area, where you can find lot of nice things to buy. Late in the evening, the streets are transformed into a market, selling anything you can imagine and there are also lot of food stands with really good typical regional chinese food.
We chose the hotel for practicality, to be close to Pudong/Shanghai airport and it is, ~ 10 min by hotel courtesy bus. Immediate area is not touristy ( aplus) and good for wandering with markets, shops and garden nearby. Suite very good value for money.
