I do not believe the English speaking ability of the staff is suitable for assisting Englishing speaking guests. The dining room menu has a a broad selection of foods directed toward Asians. The coffee shop, as it is called only offers a buffet, not a single sandwich or even a cup of coffee or tea.
This is a good and clean hotel. The breakfast is good and offers variety.

Hotel was great, just been renovated. Food on the top floor was fantastic. Hard to fault this hotel and would definately stay again.
we have stayed at the Juilong Hotel three years running and have always found it a clean and friendly environment to stay in. as it is on the edge of the city centre it is quieter and more Chinesey than some hotels in middle Shanghai.The hotel is gradually being refurbished and has improved on every stay.
We chose the Superior Room over the standard room. We get a suite, the bed room is separate from meeting room. the price is only a few dollars over the standard, which is exceptional value for money! definitely recommend for the upgrade. The hotel has refurbished with a nice lobby, we can't believe it was only a 3 star hotel. They have a restaurant serving authentic shanghai food on the 2nd floor. The lobby bar is also reasonably priced with their drinks. The service from the reception girls is average. there was no smiles. Overall, not a bad hotel, definitely will stay again.
