Don't have much to complain about here. The staff was friendly, the room had a great view out over the Bay of Napoli and Mt Vesuvius. Two negative points: 1) The location. DO NOT try and walk to the hotel, especially along the main road as the walkway stops and you find yourself on a busy road with buses zooming around you. The hotel has a free shuttle bus that will take you from Sorrento up the hotel and back though. Just enquire about the timetable. 2)There is free wireless Internet but we couldn't get it in our actual room which was quite annoying. So we had to go down to the foyer everytime we wanted to go on the net. But, the rooms were comfortable and well kept; ours had a balcony and there is a big terrace on the roof of the hotel, as well as surrounding gardens. Bathroom was excellent and had one of the best showers I've encountered in a hotel. The lounge, bar and restaurant downstairs are comfortable too.
Nice location on hill above Sorrento-half an our stroll down through vineyads/olive groves. Aedquate breakfast and friendly staff who gave us free internet use. It was off-season(Feb) so hotel was empty.
My wife and I were delighted with the friendlyness and helpfulness of all the staff at this very pleasant family run hotel. The food in the restaurant was well prepared wholesome and the staff in the restaurant made you feel as though you were there only and most important customer regardless of how busy they were. The hotel is located outside of town with wonderful views over Naples Bay and Mt Vesuvius. They run a shuttle mini-bus service to and from downtown Sorrento and if arriving/departing by train or airport bus at Sorrento Station they will pick you up by arrangement. Dont use the taxi very expensive 26 Euros. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again.
Johanna Park Hotel in Sorrento is a great place to stay if you want peace and quiet, away from the busy downtown streets. Very good staff - warm and welcoming. Restaurant enjoys a staff that not only provides good service, but is fun as well - food is pretty good if you enjoy Italian crusine. There is a shuttle bus that takes you to town at regular intervals and will also pick you up and return to hotel. Only one complaint: The shower stall was too small and loaded with mildew!
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel shuttle bus to and from the center of town is convenient to use, very regular (there is almost one every hour) and free which is great. The views from the hotel are also very nice.
This is a very nice hotel in the hills above Sorrento - about a 25-minute walk into town. My room was immaculate and had a beautiful view across the bay towards Naples. This was by far the best room I had in Italy and also the cheapest. The only drawback some people might find is its location outside of town, but I saw this as a bonus and enjoyed the walk into town each day through the olive groves and the peaceful evenings away from the crowds.
All the staff here were brilliant - so friendly, helpful & welcoming. A little out of town, but worth it for the peace & quiet and spectacular veiws. Made us endless coffees!! Gabrielle, Sydney
the owners of this hotel are lovely people who will go to any length to satisfy you. We had a wonderful time there and can recommend it to all.
The hotel staff is absolutely the best. We spent two weeks here in August 2005 and must say that this stay was the best stay ever in a hotel in both the States and Europe so far.
The owner and her family and all the staff were very accomodating and wanted to be sure their customer's were happy.
The staff are cheerful. We had a room with a beautiful view.
Fabulous family run hotel. Lovely people, excellent service. Highly recommended.
An exceptionally friendly family-run hotel. Beautiful view. Not in walking distance of Sorrento centre but a flexible shuttle service operated. Food OK but limited in choice.
The hotel was wonderful and if we could we would have stayed their for the whole two weeks of the holiday. We were fortunate to stay in the new villa with ocean views through the olive trees from every room. The family atmosphere of the hotel was great and all the staff were extremely friendly. There is a courtesy bus to travel the 6km into town and they are putting a pool in soon which will make it an even better place to stay. Breakfast was awesome too! The best hotel of our holiday by far!
Wonderful view of Sorrento and surroundings from roof-top, rooms were clean, compact and basic. The Location was further away from the main Sorrento shopping area than we had anticipated, a good 10 min car ride and approx 1 hour walk down a winding cliff roadway. However the bus service is regular and picks up right outside the gate. English is spoken by most of the staff.
The hotel is very new and very clean. The staff members are very friendly. The hotel has - on the top of the building - a huge terrace, with a beautiful view. All in all we really can recommend the hotel. It is located a little bit outside of Sorrento (on the way to St. Agata) in a garden, which means you have a place of silence to recover.
A very warm and friendly welcome from Johanna herself who seems to be a very "hands-on" woman acting as receptionist, guide, driver. Elevated, peaceful setting with lemon and olive trees. Johanna says after 4 years, the hotel finally has permission to build a swimming pool. Hotel seemed to be a long walk from town until we discovered a short cut by the Hotel President, which comes out by the Hotel Bristol. (Watch out for scooters and small cars using this road) The roof top terrace has a fantastic view, but is not mentioned much.
Very friendly staff, with a good shuttle bus service.
The service at Johanna park was outstanding, from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, the staff could not do enough for us. Felt a little like family after spending 3 nights, very personal service and would highly recommend. A little way from the town (about 4 minutes by the Johanna Park Free Shuttle) but shuttle comes and goes very frequently and Tony the driver is happy to customise times or places of interest. Excellent stay!!
I was there to attend a conference in the Hilton Sorrento Palace. The owning family was very nice and offered to pick me up with the hotel shuttle bus also when there was no shuttle scheduled - for free! When you arrive it is actually worth calling them from the train station for a pick up as the taxi costs about 15 Euro. Walking to the town is not too far (25-30 min). But you get recompensated with a great view over Sorrento to the Vesuvius and Naples and you can do it by night as there are lights along the path and street. Conclusion: I would go there again, also very nice for families.
