we had a very pleasant stay at seafront hotel. The location is great, very close to ferry terminal. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful, especially the Mr. Chef at the restaurant, he is really a great and humorous guy and extremely helpful. The room is indeed sea-front, it indeed is one of the best hotels we have stayed.
A modest property that seems to be living on past success and is now in need on day to day maintenance.
Sorrento Rooms are located upstairs in the original Sorrento Guest House building. Substantially renovated, with new en-suite bathrooms, furnishings and fittings. These rooms now have a spacious modern atmosphere. Perfect for longer or shorter stays, at a value for money price.

The service at this family run business was really good. They were very helpful and seemed to be pleased that we were there. The full breakfast was superb with the breakfast being cooked to order ie no plastic eggs. The only downside was that it was an extra 35 minutes to drive anywhere west or south on the island.
Room is clean and cozy. Receptionist is very friendly and helpful. But the location is not so good, too far away from the scenic spots compared with American River or Kingscote.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a fabulous meal and good wine in the bistro.
Courteous service and clean.
The Heritage rooms, as well as the bathroom are very small. The sink in the bathroom only holds about one liter of water. The service in the restaurant was slow.
We arrived later than expected but were made very welcome, the room was lovely and warm. We had breakfast in the dining room it was well priced and enjoyable. Would recomend the hotel and would stay there again ourselves. Position excellent
Rooms very nice; Restaurant excellent; located very near to the Ferry.
Very friendly and welcoming. A very enjoyable stay.
Excellent accommodation in the chalet and excellent service in the restaurant. Thankyou.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Kangaroo Island Seafront although the weather then was not that exceptional . Warm welcome and a bit of humour also at the restaurant helped us to overcome a slight bit of disappointment about not being able to use the swimming pool .
I appreciate that the rate for this motel was reduced as I booked it through [website], however if I had to pay the full rate for the room we were given, I would have gone elsewhere. The room left a lot to be desired but was adequate for what we paid. The noise from the room's floor boards was shocking (we understand it's an old building). It had like a 'transportable' ensuite! The cleanliness of some areas was disgusting. Room was extremely dusty. Doorstep to outside balcony had an extremely large pile of bird droppings which had obviously been there for some time. There were dead flies on the window sills in the dining area which were there the whole time we were. The clock in the room was set an hour later so we were an hour early for breakfast start times! I appreciate they are renovating and once this is completed I think it will be a lovely place to stay. I would stay there again but not in their Heritage Suites, it would be the new area.
The discounted rate was excellent. The hotel mixed up our reservation for twin beds and they upgraded us to a cottage, so it ended up being a terrific deal. The original room was small, but adequate. The hotel has a nice bar/lounge area and a lovely pool/spa courtyard, so it is not necessary to stay in the room. We were just staying the night to do the penguin tour, which is just around the corner up the road from the ferry.
We stayed in the self-catering garden chalet accommodation, which was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location in Penneshaw was great, being close to the ferry terminal. Recommended.
