Kaohsiung Toong Mao Evergreen Hotel

The hotel is fine. However, the map provided by google is wrong. There is another Toong Mao Evergreen Hotel which is close to the Love River. Google's map mix these two hotels up.

Hotel is old and is in need of a revamp. There is a strange smell in the toilet. Other than being located near a MTR station.. I really dun see much about this hotel that I can recomment.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is very near to the Kaohsiung MRT station. Hotel staff are also very friendly and ever willing to help us with the directions. Pricing is very reasonable. There is wireless connection in the room as well. Besides the usual laundry services, the hotel also provide washing machines and dryer for the hotel guest at a nominal fee.

If you coming to Kaoshiung by train, it's quite convenient to take the MRT to this hotel. Just 5 mins' walk. With the MRT, you can take to most part of the city centre and the Dream Mall.

The hotel is near the MRT station and there is a 7-eleven convenience shop opposite. A good location for travellers to get around the city.

On the whole, you can't expect much from the low cost for staying at this hotel. However, it is about 5mins walk from the nearest MRT station. Very helpful and friendly counter staffs. The facilities in the rooms are a little old and the air can be a bit stale, but I believe the hotel is currently doing some repair work and will be more pleasant to stay in, in the future.

Service is poor as counter staff are arrogant. However, value for money for budget traveller. Good breakfast spread but must go early to enjoy full spread.

This hotel is a bit far from the train station at the moment as the East-West line in Kaohsiung is not connected to the North-South line yet. Otherwise it would be really convenient. There is a shopping centre just 1 minute away (President department store). Liuho night market is quite far to walk. A bus has to be taken there. Rueifeng night market is way better and is located near 'Kaohsiung Arena' station. The main shopping strip near 'Central Park' station is accessible by bus only at the moment at the East-West line in Kaohsiung is not connected yet. Beds are rock hard as with any other Chinese hotel. Good food can be found minutes out of the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located and walking distance to the infamous night market. Will choose to stayy there again during my next visit.

The staff is uber friendly and helpful ! Despite the lapses in english proficiency, the front desk ladies & concierge are always more than willing to help out a guest. Food is not fantastic but it does fill the tummy. There is however a Chinese restaurant at the corner of the hotel which serves really yummy food !
