Getting there:From Wellington travel north on State Highway 1 to Kapiti Coast. Kapiti Gateway Motel is located just north of the New World Supermarket at 114 Main Road Waikanae - turn left in to Martin Street to enter motel carpark. Guests can travel by train from Wellington Train Station to Waikanae Station and walk 2 mins to Kapiti Gateway Motel. From Palmerston North drive south via Levin and Otaki to Waikanae - (1 hour 10 mins drive time from Palmerston North). Kapiti Gateway Motel located on the right as you enter Waikanae on the corner of the Main Road and Martin Street.
Check-in Procedure:Thank you for choosing KAPITI GATEWAY MOTEL as your preferred accommodation. On check-in you will be required to complete a registration form and supply credit card details. Late arrivals (after office closes at 10:30pm) are welcome but we ask guests to phone us to obtain instructions on how to access their accommodation after hours and to supply credit card details. Great place to stay only 20 - 30 minutes to Wellington, Train station right there so could jump on the train for a new experience, if you have never traveled by rail. They kept the rooms clean and kept everything topped up (tea, coffee, towels etc). The owners were helpful and friendly as were the cleaners (always smiling which is great). Overall enjoyed our stay, only complaint, which can't be helped is that due to the proximity of the train station, was noisy, but you get used to it.
Hi we really enjoyed our stay and found it to be excellent. The service was great and we would be happy to tell anyone to stay when on holiday in NZ. We will be returning next time we are over.

The facilities were good, except for the shower which is very cramped. Generally showing signs of age.
