"Good location, 5 min walk to beach. Beach is beautiful!Be sure to get a chair voucher from reception to save paying for one. Nice, large, quiet rooms. Breakfast is nothing special but fills the gap. Pools are lovely, so was the room. Very family / kid friendly with kids pools and playgrounds." - BELINDA GALLAGHER
"We spent 4 nights at Kata Palm Resort & Spa Phuket in Jan 09. The place looked great on their website and we had high expectations.
The front of the hotel did live up to our expectation as it looked like a Thai temple and the front lobby/check-in was grand looking. The service leaves much to be desired. The 2 check-in girls kept chatting to each other and it took them forever to check us in. It was slow even by Thai standards.
We booked a Deluxe Pool View Room. It's spacious but the furnishing is very basic and worn out. The towels are old and frayed and they don't give you fresh toiletry items daily. You get the usual soap, shampoo etc when you check in and that's it.
The pools were nice and the service good. The breakfast buffet is pathetic with a large assortment of unappetising food (greasy spaghetti for breakfast anyone?).
All in all it's a Three Star resort with fairly basic amenities. If we were to return to the area, we'd try the resorts in Kata Noi instead." - Anonymous
"I stayed at this hotel twice and the hotel is really nice and the staff very friendly. I paid a little extra for the Deluxe Pool View Room on my 2nd stay which was much nicer than the Delux Room. That said if you are looking just for a room both are fine.
The breakfast was nice also and the daily room clean very good.
Overall a nice hotel and not far from the beach (5min walk).
Taxi from the hotel to Phuket airport is 800 bath. " - Anonymous
"We really enjoyed our stay at Kata Palm Resort and Spa (there was no spa actually, however). The service was particularly excellent. The included breakfast was very nice and again, good service. There restaurant however was not especially good. The room was nice, very clean and spacious. " - Anonymous
