Good, fast check in and good standard of service through bar and restaurant areas as well.
The staff were very helpful. The location is right in the business area and the room was great with cofee, biscuits, mini bar, electric blnkets etc. Will stay ther again *****
Modern decore. All rooms have LCD TV, SKY, Mini bar, room service, high speed broad band.
Excellent
It was definitely value for money and it will be my choice the next time I go down to Invercargill
The service and friendly staff were a highlight. From the valet car parking and to the facilities (room etc) it made it an enjoyable stay. I would stay there again.
We stayed at the Kelvin for two nights, while attending the Bluff Oyster and Food Festival. We booked fairly late, and paid $158 per night, although we have stayed in the hotel before, and paid a lot less per night. The booking confirmation indicated a standard double room, but we ended up in a triple room, with bath. The room was very comfortable, if a bit noisy (we were at the front of the hotel, on the second floor). We ate in the Level One restaurant, where the food was very good, with ample portions, at a reasonable price for the standard of food. Service was rather slow at times, but all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has had a makeover since our previous stay and the room was of a better standard than we had previously experienced. Having said that, the hotel represented poor value for money for the room rate we paid.
Hotel is old style but clean and located in the centre of the city.
Elderly hotel (1965) renovated, big rooms, noisy in- and outside, but certainly worth the money you pay.
Rather dated but clean and affordable, let down a little by the fact that there is no on-site parking. Pleasant service.
Kingsgate- central. Bonus for us was checking in, in time to stand on balcony and watch the local Rugby team parade the trophy- first win at that level for 50 years. Hotel better than ratings suggest- friendly, complimentary parking in local store car park- spacious room. Stay again certainly.
This was one of the best Hotels we stayed at on our entire holiday .it was very central, great staff ,really appreciated extra touches . Even offered free laundry facilities.
Would certainly stay here again. We stayed on Saturday night and there was a wedding on the next floor up from us, with a band playing, but the noise didn't keep us awake. Great how the elevators are away from the rooms also in a separate corridor.
So handy to CBD that car not required. Tidy hotel at a tidy price.
We were impressed by the hotel restaurant. The food and service was very good and we liked the style and layout of the facility itself.
cbd location, parking a short distance away but secure, staff freindly (southern style)good heating ,good beeding, in house restaurant dinner and breakfast very good, will stay again when in invercargill
A great friendly hotel. I'll definitely stay there again.
The Kelvin Hotel is OK and invercargill is OK too. It's an old fashioned hotel in an old fashioed town, which is just nice. It's location is central to what buzzes in Invercargill and though the buzz is not loud it is most pleasant. There is no rating for the people or the friendliness in the hotel, but if there was, this hotel would warrant a most excellent.
All staff I came into contact with, not just reception, were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the delay between my making a booking and receiving confirmation.
Perfectly adequate hotel in an unexciting city
While feeling a tad dated, this hotel was very friendly, convenient onsite restaurant, and free down the stree parking.
