Kia-Ora Backpackers Lodge is a comfortable, affordable, old-style guest house ideally situated in central Pretoria, South Africa. We welcome all international backpackers and travellers. Our warm hospitality and personal service creates a home away from home. We're on the way to the rest of Africa. Kia-Ora Backpackers Lodge forms Part of the Central Historic Museum Park. Opposite Burgers Park Gardens (Oldest Park in Pretoria) and next to Melrose House Museum. This Historic Building was built in 1933 and has been renovated to recapture the original spirit, with wooden floors and pressed lead ceilings.

Getting there:From the N1 highway North to Pretoria, go to city central, past the correctional services on your left hand side. Turn right in Jacob Mare street. Go over Andries street and we are on the right hand side.

This hotel is only worth 2 stars. It was very noisy in the neighbourhood at night (although we only stayed one night). Off street parking was available but difficult as cars needed to be moved to get ours in and out. The booking was messed up and the room was only OK. I wouldn't recommend it.
