Great price at last minute deals Car parking a problem!!! Good central location
Centrally and conveniently situated to the city centre and amenities. Helpful, friendly staff. Tasteful decor and the room had everything we needed. Pity that the hot water ran out on the first morning and that the view of the city was marred by the electrical sub station in close proximity to the hotel.
very helpful and friendly staff throughout the hotel
I was a little annoyed at the fact that the room walls were so thin I was awoken in the middle of the night to the next room's radio blaring. There was no appology for this and I expected at least a sorry. The staff, however were extremely friendly and helpful apart from the above incidence.
i only have one complaint and that is that the room only had a double bed - you would be hard pushed to find modern hotels with old double beds today, that is why i gave the facilities a "bad" tick otherwise it was a lovely stay but would not book again unless they change to queen size beds
A very pleasant place to stay. Well located.
The ensuite room was clean, the bathroom tidy, but the room had soggy furniture and looked tired. The discerning tourist would expect a bit more "class" for the amount paid. Upgrade of the room is needed.
an older property in excellent location was well maintained with recently renovated ensuite which was very good.easy walk to the CBD and great range of nearby restaurants.Bed and room faciilities good for the price
The hotel conveniently situated within the city and, whilst the hotel looks a bit dated, our double room was a good size, clean and had good views. The ensuite had been recently renovated and the bed was very comfortable - we would definitely stay here again should we go back to Dunedin.
We had booked a smoking room, and had confirmed it as such via email. When we arrived we were told none was available. We specifically stayed at the Kingsgate because they advertised online that they had smoking rooms. We weren't too happy about that. Noise proofing in the rooms, or at least double glazing to cut down traffic noise would also have been good. Otherwise, the Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and very professional. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Room service was very prompt and the meal we received was excellent.
Staff very helpful. Parking could do with improving as it is situated on a slope.
The room was not comfortable in this tired old building and there wasn't enough parking available. However, the location was good for walking around town.
We were upgraded to to top floor suite at no extra charge. Would definitely stay again.
