Awsome place to stay. Sooo spaciaous and great pool and gym. The decor might be a bit outdated, but I don't mind it at all. Room was soooo comfy. Wonderfull for families and anyone. We would lovge to stay again.
Although the hotel experience was as expected, the booking procedure and conformation of the booking was seriously flawed. The hotel had not received any information from RatesToGo nor could they tell if the room had been paid for creating an uncomfortable check out.

Furnishings are a little dated, but rooms extremely spacious. Excellent buffet breakfast. Great pool/spa facilities. Great location for travelling to Auckland.
Not the best place I have stayed in Hamilton, prefer the Ventura. Location is out of town but handy if you wish to stay North of the centre. Rooms are tired but having said that, they are clean - pleased to see carpet renewal going on. Friendly staff. Value for money at the $99 including breakfast rate
Good rooms and parking was good as well. But I booked a family room and had 3 kids with me which I had mentioned. I expected them to tell me that there would not be a micro wave in my room. As a family room I had expected a micro to be there to warm milk for my kids. That was the only down fall but otherwise the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.
The decor is a little faded and the carpet's seen headier days. However, it was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was wonderful. Generous sized room etc.
Good value place to stay with great gym and pool
The Kingsgate provided extremely good value for money and I would recommend it highly to anyone considering a trip to Hamilton.

Urgently in need of a refurb! 1960's furniture in rooms, dining room and common areas, gym facilities all good, but well worn and need renewing, feels like a 1970's working mens club without the smoke. Staff were really pleasant and welcoming though.
A bit disappointed with the Kingsgate, very dated in decor, empty hotel shampoo bottle in shower, chipped tiles, tea/coffee splashes on wall, no hairdryer in room.
The hotel was very well priced to include a full breakfast for 2. The rooms are large and clean but so very old looking. The spa pool was filthy. The pool had a thick scum line but looked clean. The service and breakfast was excellent. The gym is well fitted out. Overall this is good value for money if you pay what we did $99 for room including 2 breakfasts
This hotel was very nice to stay in. Reception was helpful. Food was great. All round a very happy experience. Would stay here again.
Furniture not so new but no problem with the rest
A clean and comfortable spot to stay close to the racecourse. A little tricky to navigate stairs to our room with suitcases and a spouse with knee problems. Efficient service and decor reasonable but maybe a little tired and in need of updating.
Staff appeared disinterested, service was adequate.
Hotel was not really what I was expecting, the room seemed dated and the ties on the bathroom floor were cracked, and the shower could have been cleaner. Good Breakfast and location was as expected - about 5 minutes drive to city centre
Good average priced hotel, handy to amenities.
