Excellent hotel and so was the included breakfast. Great location, bang in the centre of the town, walking distance to everything. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would more than gladly stay here again.

Location was great, so close to everything, good clean room and bathroom facilities and friendly staff.
Basic room, a little worn but not too bad. Good value at the low Rates to Go rate.

Very convenient, staff friendly. Beds in need of an update as not very comfortable and pillows very hard. Excellent breakfast.
Very Good to Deal with - efficient
Budget room but great value for the amount paid. Excellent service from the staff and even rang my room about 30 minutes after checking in to make sure all was ok. I was there for business and am very impressed, if staying in Palmerston North again will certainly stay there again.
I must say it was a very pleasant stay with good amenities including use of spa which was very refreshing. Definately recommend to anyone who is looking for a decent accomodation at a good price.
very good all around
we were aiming for a moderate priced room for one night. Our room was adequate and satisfactory for the price we paid. However, not happy with some very noisy people who seemed to have only registered very late for a room upstairs from our room at 3.30 a.m.!Loud talking and stomping on the stairs (or so it sounded). I empathise with someone requiring late perhaps unexpected acccomodation but management should ensure there is as little disturbance as possible, certainly at that hour. THe people proceeded to talk for at least another hour and we had to listen to people using the toilet and taking a shower.So sound proofing definitely not great.Overall though my previous experiences with Kingsgate have been very good. Special mention to very pleasant and attentive wait staff at dinner in the Restaurant.
Very nice place to stay and staff very helpful; however on enquiry staff did not know how long hotel bar would be open - it seems it depends on how many people are sitting at the bar. So if you wanted to go down for a drink at 9.30pm it could be closed. Not a good look. Also when calling at 10pm at night to enquire how to get television to go they did not answer the phone or even call back.

Good value for money. Generally we don't utilize cheaper hotels but the Kingsgate was more than adequate. It was the cheapest hotel by far in Palmerston which could be booked online.
I was disappointed with the room in general, the room was in need of a refurbishment and very aged. There was a musty smell and the water pressure in the shower was minimal.

Just come home form a week stay. Room was clean and tidy though a little old. On saying that though the price and friendleness of the staff great and right next to the centre of town. All in all a quiet and nice place to stay. Cheers G
i was a great price for what it was just would have been great to have a few more things like a toaster and nifes and forks bowls etc!!
Room leaked. Staff not friendly or helpful. Hotel quite run down. Wouldn't stay or recommend to others.
Good property with awful service. I had to wait to 4 hours to finally get checked in.
