The Knoll is a beautiful Victorian country house set in its own grounds amidst beautiful wooded countryside. The house has many original period features including a lovely ornate staircase with stained glass windows, fireplaces, cornices and picture rails. It has been decorated and refurbished sympathetically to enhance these beautiful characteristics. This means that guests can be assured of an excellent stay with suberb food in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. You can also make the most of the free use of leisure facilities at Cascades.
The 8 rooms are all furnished to a high standard offering all modern facilities, plus a few extras like the comfort of bathrobes. Knoll has eight large double or twin bedrooms. In addition there is also a fabulous Four-poster room; a Deluxe Suite with large bathroom incorporating a separate glass shower cubicle and a large double-ended bath. This room also has a beautiful bateau lit bed and sofa. There is also a deluxe king-sized bedded room with corner bath, shower which offers additional space.
Food is a key feature at the Knoll, with a three course dinner available for only £25.00. Being passionate about using quality local produce and creating imaginative and flavoursome dishes. This has been recognised with an AA breakfast and dinner award and the recent inclusion in the Michelin Guide. A suberb dinner service is offered at the Knoll, offering a wide range of meals catering for vegetarians and special diets. |

| Getting there: |
From London and the South of England, take the M1 or M40 to Birmingham and the M6. The M6 motorway also offers easy access from Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester to the south and Carlisle and Scotland to the north. Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 36 and follow the A591 to its first turn off leading to the A590. Keep on the A590 till Newby Bridge, As you pass through Newby Bridge there is a round about, go straight on at the round about and take the first right to Hawkshead. Follow this road till you reach Lakeside about 1 mile then drive through lakeside passing the Lakeside Hotel on your right and a group of houses on you left. We are 200 meters further on from the last group of houses, on the left hand side. |
