Koreana Hotel Seoul

The Koreana is in the middle of the action! It's also on the airline limousine route. Hop on, hop off bus nearby - shops and restaurants also. Our room on the executive floor was fine, with all the amenities expected (the free LAN internet connection didn't work). Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant was OK, without being exceptional. Overall, a good honest, reliable hotel.

Location is very good for both business and leisure. Though the price is a bit steep and should provide complimentary breakfast. Many nearby eateries available at reasonable prices. Our visit happens to coincide with the lantern festival display which is very near to the hotel. The availability of the KAL bus from and to airport is another plus point for selecting this hotel.

Excellent/central location for airport transfers (Airport Limosine-the public bus to Seoul and the KAL 1 Bus), the Seoul City Tour Bus easy walking distance for Deoksugung Palace (ie Changing of Guards) and Lotte Hotel for booking Panmunjom/DMZ tours.

I stayed at the Koreana Hotel in Seoul and it was fantastic. Close to all the tourist attractions and the train station. Staff were very helpful and made the stay pleasant. When I arrived early there were no rooms available but they could see I was very tired and they went out of their way to get me a room. When my computer did not work with the internet connection they gave me complementary use of the business centre. I would definitely use this hotel again and recommend it to friends.

My wife and I stayed twice at the Koreana within a 10 day period. The first time the room cleanliness was excellent. The second time the rug was unvacuumed. There was dirt on the floor and numerous sharp paper staples which represented a substantial hazard to one's feet. But we'd stay again with no hesitation.

Excellent value and excellent location in downtown Seoul.

Great location, but overpriced for the lack of amenities and facilities.

The staff were helpfull and spoke good English. The KAL bus stops right outside the hotel, which makes it easy to find when travelling to and from Incheon Airport. We did not use a single taxi all week. The location is perfect. We walked to most sites and took the metro when it rained. The metro was 1000 Kwon per journey. There is a small but usefull gym. The restuarnt food was of good quality and about what you would expect to pay in a 4 star hotel. Drinks very expensive. The room was clean and well equipped. We recieved the usual complementary shampoo, soap, comb etc. We did not try the breakfast, so cant comment. I would recommend this hotel on location alone. My only negative is the walls can be a bit thin. This can be entertaining at times but I'd still prefer a good sleep.

excellent to stay

Hotel is convienient for travel to/from the airport and has an array or restuarants and bars close by. The underground is also close by. The Rooms are a little tired looking and the solution to stop the shower water soaking the bathroom floor is a little half hearted. 7/10 would i stay there again. Yes.

We found this an excellent hotel with good rooms and a superb location at a very affordable price.

Worth spending a night there just for the excellent Ginseng Tea in their Coffee Shop on the reception Floor! fantastic rooms, clean, quiet and excellent location (i.e. near City Hall subway station). PLUS... very important point. It's the FIRST hotel on the airport limousine 'drop-off' route and the LAST pick-up on the return journey, so no hours wasted visiting lots of other hotels!

The Koreana was the perfect hotel for my needs. I was in Seoul on business but I had plenty of downtime to explore the area. You won't find a better location in Seoul for the price (I paid $135 one night and $115 on the other nights --- or something like that). Anyway, if you're looking for the Hilton, this is not it. But, if you're looking for a nice functional hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff and want to be right in the heart of the city, then this is the place. Oh yeah... if you like to work out, there's a tiny gym on the top floor that's free. There's also a large health club on the 8th floor that I didn't go to. I heard it's nice though. Last thing - a double bed in Korea is smaller than a double bed in the U.S. Thought that might be useful if you plan for two people in a double room.

The staff were very friendly, efficient and courteous and the hotel location was very convenient to many attractions and several subway stations.

The rooms are a bit tired and old-fashioned in design, but the location is superb, staff is friendly and helpful and I would stay there again. Using their computers in the business centre or having a coffee/juice in the coffee shop is very pricey though.

very good location, old building that need some renovation . Price on the average for this class of hotel. The breakfast is good although expensive. What is completely unbearable is the fee charged for internet access, really too high.

Although my check in time was not until 2:00pm, they allowed me to check in at 9:30 am at no extra charge, which is great when you have just come off a flight.
