"Very pleased with the Kursaal & Ausonia. The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is the "Kursaal" portion of the sign isn't lit at night. Awesome hot beverage machine for the mornings! "This hotel is well located near the train station, though on a very busy road so you'd be best to ask for a room which doesn't face the street. The decor is a little tired but it was clean and safe and a good breakfast was provided. " - Anonymous


"The staff members were all very sweet, however the owners were irritating, every time they were around there was dispute coming up, payment related issues in particular, such as not accepting credit card payments for services charges and requiring cash payment. The Laundry charge was 10 euros, when I asked him to add on the invoice he said it should be paid by cash otherwise he would charge me 20 euros on the invoice. The heating was not working we freezed every night and morning. But the price and cleanness would be valued as strong points compared to the average hotel in Italy. Getting there: From Santa Maria Novella train station you can reach 'Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia by taxi or on foot. Leave the station from the side where platform 16 is located and turn right on the sidewalk and then left on Via Nazionale: our hotel is located at number 24 (black), on the right after Via Guelfa. It is about a 10 minute walk from the station.

By car
From the Firenze Nord exit follow the signs for the city center (centro). When you get to Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light on Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. After the square with trees (Piazza Indipendenza), Via Nazionale starts, our hotel is on the left at number 24 (black).
From the Firenze Sud exit follow the signs for the center. Once you get to Piazza della Libertà take Via Lorenzo Il Magnifico: at the first traffic light turn left on Via Poliziano and continue until you get to Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria.
Car parking: Parking is about 15 min walk from the hotel and costs euro 18,00 per 24h.
There is also a garage (with car pick up service and delivery on departure) from euro 23,00 up to 36,00 depending on the size of the car
