La Fortezza Hotel Florence

We had a very pleasent stay at the Fortezza and would reccomend it to others. The only small thing we would like to have seen is fresh fruit at breakfast.

Clean, efficient - good value for money - Staff a little lax, but perfect location if you arrive by train.

Very friendly, clean efficient hotel that was very good value in my book. A tad out of the way but walked into the centre each day I stayed and got to know and see more than if I had stayed in the centre. Decor is modern and the breakfast room is bright and airey with a good choice of the usual breakfast fare.

Nice, clean hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Quite basic but good value for money. Downside-it is not in the centre so you need to catch a taxi (10 mins in taxi and about 10 euros with tip each way) so can get a bit expensive! Recommended

Reasonably located walk away from the main train station and shops. A pleasant and comfortable stay with modern rooms that are clean and well maintained. (although the two single beds joined as a double can be a little uncomfortable at times). Staff helpful and friendly (particular compliments to the breakfast staff!).

Fantastic hotel - spacious appealing rooms. Great service. Nice reasonable breakfast with great staff. Location is on the northern "outskirts" but still definitely within walking distance to the major attractions.

We can wholeheartedly recommend a stay here. Another bonus is that it is in a relatively quiet part of Florence which is a blessing after a busy day. From the first view into the marbled entrance to the excellent bright decor in the bedrooms we struggled to fault with anything and customer service was second to none. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Thanks go to all.

Great hotel, centrally located, clean and pleasantly decorated, staff very obliging. For its price was the best all round hotel we stayed at in Europe.

At first we thought this Hotel was too far out, but after a walk into the centre, we realised it is actually quite convenient. The advantage is, you are well away from the crowds! The hotel itself was quite a surprise. The rooms are furnished in a very modern style, very comfortable with A/C and well equipped en-suite. Breakfast was the usual continental buffet, and the dining room was bright and airy, again furnished with very modern furniture. Parking was a little problem. You can park on the street where it is €2 per hour between 8am and 8pm (free overnight), or they do have an underground parking area which is very small and requires a lot of vehicle moving (you have to leave them your keys) which is €10 per day. We chose the street option and someone tried to break into our hire car, damaging the door. I must stress though that the hotel is in a nice area! However, I would recommend NOT taking a car as driving in Florence is a complete nightmare!! Recommended.

This was a gift to our sons, their first trip to Florence. The city was wonderful and the hotel wonderful. The breakfast was a bit sparse, but it made them explore new foods!

It's a little outside the city centre but only a quick walk or taxi ride in any case.

Excellent hotel with friendly & efficient staff, clean and very comfortable rooms, decorated quite funkily, all facing away from the road and quiet. It is a 10 min walk from the station & the 2 main bus operator termini and 15 mins walk from all the attractions like the Duomo, Uffizi etc.
