La Griffe Luxury Hotel Rome Guest Reviews

3.6 out of 5

When we arrive at our room was extremely hot inside.I had to complain several times to get a better room. They told me that cold air was not avaiable at this time. An upgrade was offered, and we went to a junior suite we 2 single beds. Breakfast is good, ask for capuccino instead a regular coffee. The hotel is modern if you compare with others in downton. The location is good, near to Termini and Republica underground. If get back to Rome, I will probably stay at La Griffe

The Badge for our room (nr. 800) did not work all the 4 days we stayed and therefore an employee (all were very polite) had to open the door for us every time. Don't have a drink at the hotel bar, the prices are incedible, also at happy hours. But all in all, we enjoyed our stay an can absolutly recommand the hotel.

We couldn't fault this hotel for service, cleanliness, location and facilities. The hotel is within walking distance of all the major sights, for example - 10 minutes walk to Trevi fountain, 15 minutes to the Colosseum etc. Would definitely recommend La Griffe to anyone visiting Rome.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. However the breakfast was a bit of a let down as the sponge cake was stale and there was not enough choices of fresh juices and the fresh fruit was actually tinned fruit. The room was evry good and the service was excellent.

The hotel was modern but a few things weren't up to scratch for me. The bathroom had no heating - the radiator did not work and I reported it but it sounded like an issue that had been around for a while so was not going to be rectified during my stay. The shower tiling had mould and mosaic tiles missing which made it a bit tatty. The hotel bar was awful, brightly lit and too austere - not very welcoming. However, the location and price were great and it was warm and quiet.

The location and staff were excellent, breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The only downside was there was no iron in the room and as we didn't have one with us, it cost me 8 euro to get it done by the hotel which was a bit saucy! Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome as it was very good value for money.

Great Location with clean comfortable rooms. Only minutes away from all that's good in the centre of Rome and with the tube 2 mins away, easy to navigate the rest of Rome. Breakfast was pretty good but get there before 10am, as it got pretty thin on the ground after that.

A totally modern hotel, something difficult to find in Rome. Location is very convinient. Services to guests are good. The only drawback is that they gave us an interior room with no windows to the outside. I would recomend you to ask for an outside room at the time of reservation. I would repit though.

Breakfast was definately not "American", as described, rather, continental with the addition of underdone bacon and scrambled egg both of which were cold if you didn't get down for breakfast before 08.00.....otherwise spotlessly clean, everything worked (well the hotel IS only 2 years old!!) staff were helpful and you couldn't pick a better location for a city break in ROME (ideal for transport, food, shops....the hotel is on VIA NAZIONALE and leads directly downhill to VIA del CORSO which are the two best shopping streets and lead directly to most of the famous 'must-see' sights all within easy walking distance).

At check-in we were told our room was not ready but we could have a better room for another 50 euros per night. We declined and our room was ready in 5 minutes. The standard room is quite small.

We found the location excellent for getting around Rome. It is very close to the termini station. It is also on useful bus routes (eg for getting to the Vatican) with a bus stop nearby on the road. The room was small but adequate.

The hotel and decor was lovely - very modern. However, our room was not finished off very well - many of the fixtures looked messy in the bathroom and the shower was very dirty in between the tiles. We ate in the roof top restaurant and that was lovely - fab view across the city and a lovely menu. The prices were on a level with all of the restaurants we ate in, which I thought was excellent considering the view, and the food quality was much better. I would definitely recomend - we may have just been unlucky with our room.

Overall we were pleased with this hotel. The location is great--walking distance to major attractions and close to subway. We were told not to expect much in terms of service from Italian hotels and this hotel certainly held true (worst service of the 5 we stayed in in Italy). For the money though it was above average.

La Griffe Hotel is very modern and clean. Well located - all sights are with in walking distance. I thought the prices for some extras (pay-per-view movies etc) were expensive, but the choice was good. Our room was very small, but the bed was huge and comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel.

An excellent modern hotel. We stayed in a great sized room with flat screen TV, multi-head shower and walk-in wardrobe. The staff were first rate, as was our trip to Rome generally.
