La Rive Motel Akaroa

A great little hotel for those wanting to cater for themselves. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is a fair way from the town centre but it is a flat and quite a pretty walk along the waters edge to get there.

The motel room was OK but somewhat dated. The outdoor seating & garden area accessible from the unit were pleasant. When we wiped up some water that splashed out of the shower on to the floor we noticed the towel became very dirty suggesting the floor had not been cleaned before our stay. The manager was pleasant both when we checked in and when we left.

Delightful older style motel but had every thing we needed including nice balcony. Friendly owners.Pleasant walk to restaurants and shops. Excellent historic hotel for meals across the road.

Great place to stay. Apartments in good order and spacious. Owners friendly and helpful. Would have no hesitation in recommending friends to stay here and would do so myself.

Older style with a walk to the views unless upstairs, but good value and clean.

Motel is very comfortable and atmosphere very relaxed - only suggestion would be that they supply soap!

On arrival we were greeted by loud blasting music as the young attendant was doing the Motel laundry. She turned it off while speaking to us then turned it back on just as loud. Not a pleasant greeting. They were unable to find agreed pricing for accommodation in the system which delayed our departure. Rooms are very dated and minor repairs were required such as adjoining carpet and vinyl where stuck together with sticky tape!

Don't expect anything more that cheap holiday cabin type facilities here. Worth it only for being in Akaroa which is just beautiful

We loved the interesting building style of the house, and our corner balcony.
