The Lake Hawea Hotel has been operating for 25 years and is situated on the southern shores of Lake Hawea in a peaceful and picturesque location.
Lake Hawea is 15km north of Lake Wanaka on the Wanaka/Haast highway.
We have 12 Hotel rooms each with a stunning view of the Lake. All our rooms have recently been completely renovated and updated to the highest standard.
We have 4 studio rooms (two of which are wheelchair accessible). These units have a king sized bed which converts to two king singles. These units sleep 2 people.
We also have 8 Family rooms which have a king bed which converts to two king singles downstairs and a double and single bed upstairs on a mezzanine level.
All our Hotel rooms have private bathrooms, a balcony and tea & coffee making facilities.
Our Lodge has 11 private rooms with 2 or 4 single bunk beds. There are shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Linen and towels are provided.
The Lake Hawea Hotel also offers a restaurant that is open all day every day and two spacious bars. We also have a guest laundry.
Local attractions include walking and biking tracks, fishing, golf course, sky diving, Warbirds museum, puzzling world, scenic flights, jetboating.

Getting there:
By car the Lake Hawea Hotel is 15 km north of Lake Wanaka on State Highway 6 and 140km south of Haast. The Hotel is well marked from State Highway 6.

Please check in with our staff in the Main entrance of the Lake Hawea Hotel. If you require the room outside of our check in and checkout times we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Car parking:
Large free off-street car parking for cars and coaches.
Child Policy:
All children are welcome - an extra charge of $18 per child applies to all Hotel rooms. We have a games room and children's menu.
