The Lakehouse is pleasantly situated above a rather muddy looking lake, a little away from the more obvious tourist attractions of the Cameron Highlands. Built in mock Tudor style, the interior is reminiscent of a 1970s pub in England and may not to be to everyone's taste. However, I am glad that we chose it instead of the newer and bigger concrete hotels, despite the phone cable leading to nowhere. The staff couldn't be more helpful.
One of the best hotels we have stayed. The location is great. The staff are very friendly and provide professional service. We will definitely re-stay in the Lakehouse when we visit Cameron highlands in the future.

The anti-mosquito window net in room 15 is torn The waiters at the restaurant are not well verse with English but very helpful Overall the hotel is great
The lakehouse hotel looks like it is straight out of the English countryside. The staff were attentive addressing us by our names, the rooms spacious, beds and bathroom clean and comfortable. A little on the expensive side for countryside Malaysia, a gin tonic + whisky at the bar was 85MYR and a BBQ dinner 140MYR although the closest town Tanah Rata has a good selection of restaurants. I was expecting to see an old English couple still running this hotel, but as I later found out the hotel was bought over by a consortium which was slightly disappointing.
Mock Tudor Olde Worlde charm with great service that will make you think you've stepped back in time to colonial days. The hotel has been well maintained and the staff take great pride in what they do. Set on a hillside outside of the main towns of Cameron Highlands, you'll be grateful for the peace and quite, but possibly cursing, as you'll need transport to get anywhere. Make sure you take a tour of the surrounding jungle with Raja when you stay here.
The outside of the hotelbuilding is even more beautiful than on the pictures. The inside is a bit disappointing, but the rooms are ok. the air in the highlands is dampy and the airco in the hotel is moderate. dinner was good but for malaysian standards expensive. breakfast was a bit simple but the omelet that you could order was perfect.
Built in the colonial era, and has not changed a bit since then. Somewhere that should be experienced at least once. Room had bath, shower, 4 poster bed. It may not have changed in 50 years, but it was really well done. Staff were very helpful in arranging tours and the restaurant served excellent food in the evenings.
Very personalised service. Cosy atmosphere. good place to relax and unwind. A nice romantic setting not so suitable for families though. The jungle trek was a welcome bonus. Highly recommended.
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Lakehouse. The decor was charming and cozy and the staff friendly. Dinner in the dining room was a bit pricey, but delicious. Great place for a quiet retreat.
If you are visiting the Cameron Highlands then this really is the place to stay, provided you are not looking for a cheap hotel option. The atmosphere and service is great. The staff will gladly offer to start a fire in the fireplace for you to enjoy and after dinner drink. The rooms are spacious and it appears as if the bathrooms have been recently refurbished.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was good to breathe cool fresh air after several days in the hot and humid atmosphere elsewhere in Malaysia. The staff could not have been more freindly or helpful.
Good hotel and nice room (junior suite). However, it would be good if the rooms are airconditioned as there is a noisy road outside. Food good but wine is very overpriced for what is rated as a mediocre quality wines.
I was impressed with all aspects of this facility - wonderful food, service and attention to detail. I felt relaxed and enjoyed my stay in Cameron Highlands because of this comfortable accommodation.
We were very impressed with service and friendliness and efficiency of staff under their excellent Manager. He always made a point of contact with all the guests to ask how they were and if they were satisfied. We did have an excellent meal there a la carte. But we do understand that alcohol is expensive in Malaysia and so have to accept that! We had a very very nice stay and would definitely go again and also recommend it to friends.
