Large room, nice furnishings, good facilities, good location, friendly staff. Only suggestion I would make is to change the light bulbs for white ones as the room looked very dingy at night.
Easy location to find and good service. The bed was the only let-down; the mattress was uncomfortable because the electric blanket kept moving creating ridges as you slept.
Very nice...no cooking facilities in room though...
Very good motel, people freindly and helpful. Ideally suited slightly away from main area if looking for peace and quiet.
Good overall. The extra complimentary private spa was good. But the internet that I paid for (half hour) never materialised due to lack of signal or access from the hotel room. When I tried to ask for a refund the next day, I was told that it has already expired. I was told that all reimbursements should have been done the same day, whereas the hotel reception was closed by 10.30pm.
Partially refurbished property with good bed linen. Value for money excellent and even a view of the lake from the upstairs rooms. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Will definately be using this motel as our halfway stopover point in future.
Needs a little updating especially the Spa Pool. I enjoyed the stay and will return. Didn't get offered an itemized account so unsure if I got the specials that were on offer.
Have stayed a cple times and will do again - no complaints at all
excellent facilities and staff
very friendly and welcoming staff and great resturant
The Lakeland Resort is a basic style of motel that delivers very good value for money. The rooms are big with both a double and a single bed configuration which would suit three people no problem. There was plenty of room for bags and bikes and the veranda style outside provided a good place for drying wetsuits. The bathroom was basic, the shower pressure unfortunately very poor, but all the other useful things like hairdryer and iron were there. The motel is set slightly back off the main road which is a distinct advantage as traffic can often be heard in other motels we've stayed in in Taupo. It's a little out from the town about 4km but the walk is lovely. We didn't use the pool or the tennis courts but they're there and clean.
Good accomodation close to lake taupo but not in walking distance of the town centre.Freindly helpful staff.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the main reception/restaurant area looked nice. The room was a bit average however, not quite 'renovated' as suggested on the website - the bathroom had had a new square porcelain basin installed in the old bench-top and the toilet suite had been upgraded, and there was a large, new flat-screen TV in the lounge/bedrom, but that was it. The shower was terrible - akin to standing under a lawn sprinkler. The standard of room was not commensurate to either the sweeping driveway and grand covered portico, nor the use of 'resort' in the hotel's name. The location was ok, no views of the lake from our room, and just out of town but not too far. Would probably stay there again if I got the room at the right price.
Located a little way out of town but right on the edge of the lake. The hotel offers dinner (2 courses) on a buy 1 get the other 50% off. The meals were great and the staff were very friendly.
We have stayed twice and will stay next time.Reception was friendly, room was spotless apart from a bathroom ceiling light not working and a broken shade for the light everything was great.
Fairly good overall. We didn't get to try the restaurant but they seemed to have some good deals. A few minutes drive out of town, but that suited us.
The hotel is in a good position on the lake about 3kms from the centre of town. This was preferable for us as the town seemed to be quite lively so this was a quiet location. Room was decorated well and was a good size. The bathroom probably could do with a bit of an overhaul but was perfectly adequate. We would stay here again if we revisited Lake Taupo.
great place to stay
Perfectly OK for an overnight stay.
Nice place to stay, with good views, but a little way out of the town so really needed the car to get to restaurants. Literature said reception was 24 hour but it isn't. Didn't worry us, but it might have caused problems had we arrived late! Breakfast was adequate, but we had better at other similar hotels on our holiday around NZ.
