Lakeview Hotel Hangzhou

Overall is good but a bid far from town center.

A short stroll from West Lake, which is naturally very important if you're in Hangzhou to visit the lake. Many options for food nearby if you're not into standard hotel fare.

Excellent hotel next to West Lake. Nice rooms, we got upgrade to the Executive Floor without even asking. Good restaurant (Food Street) with excellent food. You can rent bicycles from hotel or across the street by lakeside. Within walking dsiatnce from main shopping streets.

I chose this hotel because of the good rate, the location and because when in China I prefer to stay in Chinese hotels rather than international chains. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. I asked for a non-smoking room, but the room was still quite smelly, although they did try to air it by opening the windows wide. I also paid extra for a Lakeview room, but could barely see the lake, as the trees in front of the hotel were obstructing the view. Apart from these minor complaints, I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. It is only 5 minutes walk from the lake.

The Wanghu Hotel was a very nice hotel. Convenient to West Lake and other restaurants and shopping. It was clean and the employees were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel anytime and I will stay there again when back in Hangzhou.
