Laris Hostal Madrid Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

Reasonably central location, but dirty, squalid and noisy area and there are much better hotels within a couple of streets that are in a better setting. Very small rooms,. Okay for those on serious budget, but not good if you want a degree of comfort for several days.

4.6 out of 5

Breakfast served beginning at 7:30 am - tricky if you have a mid morning flight. Hookers and drug addicts in the area make for a very noisy night.

Bathroom was spotless. Room was small but adequate. Although the front desk service was excellent, the desk clerks (with one exception) spoke limited English. However, they went out of their way to help us through a crisis.

The Laris is very well situated, so that Madrid's main galleries are within walking distance and the Gran Via Metro station is only 250 metres away. The accoustic insulation of the hotel is poor so thsat disturbance from inconsiderate guests can be a problem at night.

Small friendly hotel close to the major tourist sites. I've been told that many of these hotels can be noisy but this one was fairly good in this respect. It is on the edge of a seedy area but we didn't feel threatened. Not too many facilities but this is waht you expect at these prices. We would stay there again.

Hotel small, simple. Unconditional advantage-it an arrangement in the center, the affable personnel and change of bed-clothes every day

Closed to Gran via. Facilities and Cleaness are well. But many people outside were noisy to talk and shout until 2 or 3 o'clocks AM. So I couldn't sleep well...

The hotel is quite old, and some facility doesn't work. The breakfast is a bit too simple. However the service is ok. The location is quite convenient, and it is close to shops, restaurants and museums.

Great location, good buffet breakfast. Rooms a little small and dated, but fine for the price.

Generally very helpful staff, although when we arrived late at night we were initially told by non english-speaking staff that a mistake meant that we had to stay in a nearby hostel of lower grade with no air-conditioning. This was sorted out amicably when they realised that I could speak some spanish. Very happy apart from that, and it's in a great location just off the Gran Via.

This was a very clean comfortable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It is located in the centre of Madrid not far from shops and cafes, however, the only downside to the hotel is that the area can have a few street walkers.
