Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

Great Stay. Good location, just across the road is the Filipino market and local markets selling local produce i.e. mangos, and dried salted fish market next to the Filipino market. Many eating places also found near the hotel. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very big and clean. Overall, very happy with the stay!!

We booked into this hotel for a bit of luxury after climbing Kinabalu. It was, by far, the nicest hotel in the area. That said, I still think it was a bit overpriced considering the pool area is not particularly large and the hotel is quite small in comparison to other hotels we have stayed at in the past.. Our room was one of the large central rooms with bay window over looking the South China Sea. It was simply decorated, fresh looking, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and well appointed with separate shower and bath. The hotel had a prime seafront location and overlooked the handicraft and weekend market. All that the City had to offer was within walking distance from Le Meridien, which was a bonus. The staff were genuinely hospitable. They were welcoming and helpful and a credit to their employers. I hope they got a Christmas Bonus! Lovley hotel, lovely relaxing stay in KK.

Both my wife and I decided to take a short break to KK. Overall it was a wonderful trip for the short 3 days in KK. We book a club room, the room was really spacious, clean, excellent bed - hard enough for me :), most importantly we were given a sea view room where we have a good view of the open sea and the island nearby, also looking down from the room you can also get a good view of the nite market where the night scene was really amazing. The service from the hotel staffs was excellent. The club lounge was nice - quiet and very little crowd - good to pop by for a quick drink and rest after a busy day, but i would recommend to go down to the coffee house at the lobby for breakfast (instead of the club lounge) - excellent variety of food for breakfast. The hotel is centrally located that you can take a short walking tour around the city - you will need a couple of hours for this.

A very busy hotel , summer holidays, Ramadam, with many international travelers. As usual Le Meridian staff went out of their way, nothing to much. Clean, very comfortable, great pool, great food all round. Cant wait for my next visit. 5/5.

Great location right in the middle of town, near to markets and shopping centres. Short taxi ride to the jetty for visits to the beautiful islands nearby. Front counter staff tried his best to accommodate our request for 2 non smoking rooms near to each other on same floor. Especially like the service staff at The Circle Restaurant who were very accommodating towards our family with 2 pre-teens and 1 toddler.

It is a nice hotel which is relatively new and strategically located in the town of KK. Next to the hotel are shopping malls, Centrepoint and Warisan Square, which makes it convenient to find food and do even simple shopping. The room is generally quite clean, and the two queen beds are ideal for small families like us with 2 adults and 2 kids. Room is spacious. Pool is not big but good to have for relaxation in between. Hotel staffs are mostly very friendly and polite, greeting us every time. When I complained about the uncomfortable beds, the counter staffs did offer to change a room for me (which will not help), and add some mattress pad for me, which eventually solved my problem. Great! The hotel buffet spread is very good, especially fruits. Overall, I would say this hotel is definitely good for the price I paid, except that the night market directly next to it gives people the impression that it was unsafe. I would stay in this hotel again if I go KK again.

Le Meridien has great rooms, large and spacious. Bathroom has a bathtub as well as a shower. Breakfast buffet is amazing something to suit everyone, Western as well as Asian choices. We had checked out early (6am) but our trip to an island was cancelled at the last minute, but the staff let us go back and use the room till midday. That was nice of them. The only downer would be the ants on the desk. A little bit of a worry when using the computer to see ants crawling over the computer. Room has cable so we were able to use broadband for free. Not sure if that applies to all rooms, as the receptionist at first told us at first we would be charged, then later said it was for free. Also when we first checked in the room didn't smell fresh, but the staff brought some air freshner and once the air con was turned on it was ok.

The location is convenient to shopping complex and central market. It is just few mins walk distance to get there. And also, the hotel is 5-star with good service and room quality. I'll stay in Le Meridien again if there is a room rate offer.

Great location. We got a free upgrade to Dulex room so it was nice. Hotel food was great value. Swimming pool was decent sized but would be better with a water slide for kids.

Its the best value for money in KK. But there is no beach around. But lot of shopping centers and evening sit-outs. Located in city center. Smell outside the Hotel is not pleasent due to fish and veg market. But inside Hotel is excellant and very good service and very very good breakfast. Very professionally managed. I recommend YES.
