In the heart of the village of Puligny-Montrachet, renowned for its top-rated wines, the hotel Le Montrachet offers guests contemporary comfort and elegance. Recently completely renovated, the 31 stylishly decorated bedrooms are each equipped with the facilities expected of a luxury hotel including flat screen LCD televisions and modern bathrooms. To unwind and relax, where better than our beautiful designer-decorated salon or, in the morning, breakfast on the terrace overlooking the hotel grounds. Ideal for seminars, the Montrachet also has a fully equipped meeting room with high-speed wireless internet access. Thierry Berger, chef at the Montrachet's restaurant, proposes a choice of dishes where the accent is on Burgundian flavours using local produce. The lunchtime menu changes every month. The attentive but discreet staff do their best to satisfy our clients' every need. There is a lift for disabled access. In the evening, take advice from one of the Montrachet's three sommeliers and enjoy a glass of Burgundian wine. In the bar, a permanent exhibition of photographs of the area's winemakers adds a fascinating touch of local colour and Thierry Gazagnes, the hotel's manager, will be delighted to share his passion for the region with guests.

Getting there:By car: 1/ From the north, take highway A6 sud (south)direction LYON. Exit at "BEAUNE CENTRE N° 24.1". Follow the directions for CHALON SUR SAONE. Once on the N74 continue for 10 Km. After having passed the village Meursault, take one of Puligny Montrachet's three exits. Le Montrachet is on the chestnut tree lined square. 2/ From the south, take the highway A6 (north) direction Paris. Exit the highway at "CHALON NORD". Take the N6 and follow the direction BEAUNE for 15 Km. After the village CHAGNY, turn right on to the N74 direction BEAUNE. PULIGNY-MONTRACHET is the first village on the left. Le Montrachet is on the chestnut tree lined square. By train : Via High Speed Train from Paris or Lyon, nearest stations: Beaune, Dijon & Chalon sur Saône. Taxis and car rentals can be arranged for pick up at the train station.

A bit expensive for what you get. But if the point is to eat at their restaurant, it is very convenient.
We did not get a friendly welcome from the owner of the hotel. In a small hotel of this nature, it is important to make guests feel like valued customers. Unfortunately, this was not the case and therefore we would hesitate to return to the hotel. However, some members of staff were helpful and nice.

The location is delightful on a village green, but you will need a car to get around the area. The rooms are quite basic with no mini-bar or coffee / tea making facilities. There is little else besides this hotel within the village. There is vitually nothing in relation to other restaurants and bars. Continental breakfast is 15e per person. The dinner although good is a little pricey at minimum 55e pp and the local wines are brilliant but expensive. Enjoy.
A pleasant inn, with a superb restaurant. Overall, good value for money. The staff were polite and helpful.
We stayed at Le Montrachet because of the high praise the restaurant received. It turns out the praise is well-deserved. Of the several fine restaurants we dined at during our week in Burgundy, Le Montrachet stood out above the rest. Service, presentation, wine list and atmosphere all were superior.
