The cosy atmosphere and the garden that open up onto the bay offer a lot of charm. It has been fully refurbished recently in line with the history and spirit of the hotel. Le Nouvata Hotel is one of three hotels creating the Nouvata Parc Complex. It is ideally situated on the Anse Vata Bay, only 10 minutes from the city centre of Nouméa. Three hotels, Le Nouvata, Le Parc and Le Pacifique are grouped around a spectacular lagoon style swimming pool and tropical gardens. The complex is in an ideal location close to a number of boutiques, restaurants and bars, the tourist office and many water sport activities. New Caledonia is the nearest South Pacific Island to Australia and New Zealand and is only a three hour flight from Auckland or Sydney. The country has one long mountainous island called Grande Terre and seven smaller islands, each only a short flight from the capital city of Noumea. Noumea is a peninsula that projects into the world's largest coral reef lagoon. The first impression when standing on the lagoon coast of Noumea - Anse Vata and Baie des Citrons is the remarkable vibrancy of the colors around you. The greens are somehow greener and the turquoise of the lagoon more luminescent than you've seen before.

Standard of the hotel is very high. I wonder why it is rated as a *** and not a **** hotel. There were some problems though: - Either the hotel does not have non-smoking rooms or they just assigned a stinky smoker room to us. - Even when turning on all the lights in the room in the evening, it is too dark to read. We booked the hotel officially with a discount with a discount of around 70% at RatesToGo. That is actually not correct. The discount to the published regular rate is only 10-15%. This price is still good for Noumea though.
Fantastic pool, handy to the beach, and very friendly and helpful staff.
The 73 superior rooms are 32 m² in size and are all furnished with traditional wooden furniture that enhances the tropical character of the place. All the rooms have the added benefit of a balcony with a view over the lagoon or the swimming pool. The luxurious bathrooms have baths made of Italian marble and all the necessary accessories to assure you a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Great room overlooking pool and view to beach. Front desk staff helpful with tour and shuttle bookings. All spoke English, some better than others but we could all understand each other. House keeping staff extremely friendly. Happy hour at bar 5-6pm, did not eat at restaurant, although fellow visitors said meals very good. Several restaurants/bars within walking distance. Noumea can be pricey, but if you buy a few staples from supermarkets (juice, soft drinks, biscuits, cheese, fruit etc) you can reduce costs. Local bus stops outside hotel. Each trip costs XPF200 if ticket purchased from driver but if you purchase ticket from booth at main stop in gardens in town reduces to XPF170. Apparently there is a multiple use ticket available but couldn't find too out too much about this.
Staff were pleasant and obliging, most could speak english quite well. Excellent location with restaurants within walking distance, or a short cab/bus ride to the city. Ocean view room was very nice. Pool was beautiful, buffet breakfast was delicious, restaurant was okay....a bit overpriced. The only negative we had whilst staying there was being overcharged when we ordered room service - we got the excess back, but with no apology. Apart from that everyone was really helpful
Room facilities a bit lacking; 1970s styling a bit dated! Also the balcony door self-locks, so when you go out to the balcony, and then close the door behind you to prevent mosquito ingress, it locks shut and you must abseil down the side of the building (actually, for us the other door was unlocked so we could get back in). This was room 314. Pool is good, beachfront good also. Staff very helpful.
The Hotel rooms could do with updating, but were clean & comfortable. The rooms had a beautiful outlook over the bay.
Lovely, slighty run-down hotel and very friendly. Rooms facing the ocean can be a bit noisy due to the road, I'd opt for one facing the pool next tme. Good food.
