Leisure Inn Pokolbin Hill

The facility was excellent however the rooms were not set up for the configuration to which we had booked. So therefore had to ask for an extra bed, extra linen, extra towel. These should have been ready when we arrived rather than us chasing them.

The location was great but the service was shocking. First they couldn't find our booking and it took four hours(!) to sort us out a room. The reception is not available after 8pm and no one cleans your room if you book on line (apparently as its a package deal the room clean is not offered). This was not specified in the conditions but they assured me its how things are. The restaurant service was atrocious so don't eat there. We got served sweetcorn that was black inside but they did not give us a discount or apologise when we complained, blaming it on the suppliers. I would stay here again for location and surroundings but wouldn't eat there again.

Great position and very nice rooms / cottages. The pool and bbq facilities are very good and the check in staff friendly. Will stay again when next in the Hunter Valley.

Our main issue was proximity to the road with the associated noise. Make sure you get a apartment away from the road.

Leisure Inn Pokolbin Hill is located right in he middle of Hunter Valley wineries and within walking distance to a number of attractions.The 2 bedroom apartments are great value and have everything included.The staff where all very friendly and helpfull.

Friendly staff, clean and spacious apartments, spa bath a bonus. Probably for a two day stay a change of bath towels would have been nice. Excellent location for a visit to the vineyards.

Our stay was fantastic, we were at the Leisure Inn for a festival close by. The room was modern and clean, we stayed in a studio apartment which was very comfortable. Central to the Hunter Valley wineries, some walkable distance, Pokolbin village shops, and to the Irish pub. Would stay here again.

Our 4 day stay was very relaxing - quiet location and accessible to everything that we wanted to see and do. Our self contained unit was spacious and comfortable - we would definitely stay at the Leisure Inn again.

Facilities have been listed as "bad" because the bed was terrible to sleep on and there was only a 2 seater couch for a 4 peson unit (double bedroom). It is a shame because the location is great and we would have otherwise returned. The pool is basic but well kept.

Not bad, clean rooms. Do not expect much from breakfast, and be warned of the flies if you eat outside. We noticed most people ate outside the first day and inside after that. Would go again

very comfortable beds, bathroom well set out. Unfortunately cold water mid-way through showers not so comfortable! very tranquil setting.

Overall was a nice place to stay, good location & had plenty of privacy.

There are two small rooms in each cottage, back to back to each other, with a large common wall includilng a connecting door. When we arrived our room smelt like a public bathroom, possibly because the bathroom door was open for a long time and hadn't been cleaned properly. When our neighbours arrived it became apparent that walls are very thin - we could hear every word of their conversations and tv. Shortly thereafter cigarette smoke started to sift through to our room probably through the gap underneath the connecting door; worse than the toilet smell - we couldn't breathe and the room and our clothes smelt like smoke the whole of the next day and night, despite us complaining to the management. Location is excellent - walk to Tempus 2 and two restaurants there, as well as to the Hunter Valley Gardens, and more than 20 wineries are withing a 5-10 minute drive. The price is also very reasonable, although we would have preferred to pay more for thicker walls and the absence of smells.

Peaceful accommodation in beautiful surrounds and the staff were very helpful. Decor was a little dated, but it was still great value for the price!

Overall a good venue, breakfast was very poor.

The housekeeping staff who delivered the extra bed to our room left a very pleasing impression.

Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The distance of the rooms from the reception/restaurant area and the lack of solid paths made it less pleasant during a rainy weekend - however, this would have made for a more private and tranquil stay had the weather been good! Otherwise a good option for the price.

Great location and reasonable hotel. Perhaps a little overpriced but then most Hunter accommodation is. Right in the middle of Pokolbin with good proxmity to the wineries. Rooms were reasonably big although a little old. Comfortable stay and would stay again.
